KLEN K HOLZHABITATS.
With our 3 sawmills in Oberrot, Baruth, and Wolfegg, we cover all sectors of the market and meet the requirements of both trade and industry with high quality wood products. Each sawmill has its own focus on specific wood species and wood products. We operate biomass heating plants at all 3 locations – in Oberrot and Baruth with cogeneration of heat and electricity – and thereby supply both ourselves and the surroun-ding area with renewable energy from nature.

The careful handling of wood, a CO2-neutral raw material, the production of predominantly PEFC certified products, and the re-use of every individual chip that comes into being in our plants, are all a part of our conscious dealing with nature. We cultivate the natural cycle of our element through maintaining a very special value chain. For we don’t simply process the regenerative energy source. With our subsidiary company and an equity holding, we focus on careful timber harvesting and sustainable forest management.

GOOD TH I NGS COME I N TREES.
Our know-how is based on a one hundred year long tradition centered on the regenerative web of the forest. We set to work every day with this knowledge and awareness. In doing so we use sustainably managed domestic wood species such as spruce, fir, Douglas fir, pine, and Mark Brandenburg pine. And what’s more: Wood chips become pulp for paper, sawdust turns into chipboard, and wood shavings become presswood pallets. Even bark is put to use as an energy source in our company’s own heating plants. Completely environmentally friendly. And completely valuable according the Klenk Holz principle.

Spruce/ Color: yellow-white, darkens to
yellow-brown when exposed to light/ Structure: clearly visible annual ring
structure/ Character: strong strength and flexibility
properties/ Field of application: especially well-
suited as a mouldings and building- and construction-timber
Pine/ Color: dark yellow to reddish brown/ Structure: marked knottiness and
characteristic annual ring structure/ Character: strong strength and flexibility
properties/ Field of application: perfectly suited
for the outdoor area due to its good impregnability
Mark Brandenburg pineThe original vegetation region of the Mark Brandenburg pine is located in the Branden-burg forests. It grows very slowly and develops a high wood density due to the typically sparse sandy ground and the nutrient-poor soil. The optimal growing conditions ensure maximum stability and load-bearing capacity. The storage of essential oils and resin result in the Mark Brandenburg pine’s natural resistance to fungi and insect attacks – so that the wood is especially suitable for use in roof areas.
Fir/ Color: yellow-white with gray-violet
to blue sheen, darkens when exposed to light
/ Structure: resin-free tree species without resin canals
/ Character: many parallels to spruce wood Resistant to acids and alkalis
/ Field of application: most suitable for earthwork and hydraulic engineering
Douglas fir/ Color: dark yellow red, darkens to brown-
red when exposed to light/ Structure: distinction between sapwood
and heartwood clearly visible / Character: resilient and particular
durable/ Field of application: suitable for use in
outdoor areas
