You may not have to put your semester on hold for a temporary limiting condition.
KSTN seeks to hold a student’s academic success together when faced with temporary limiting conditions such as injury or illness. Services from available campus resources are locked together to provide individualized support for short-‐term assistance. Students are encouraged to contact the OSRR before dropping a course because of a temporary condition.

iCARE • iCARE assists students struggling because of poor academic performance, poor attendance or behavioral issues. Faculty members refer students for academic performance and attendance issues. Any member of the university community can report a student for concerning or disruptive behavior. The iCARE reporting form can be found by accessing the link available on the OSRR’s website. Reports also can be made via phone or email.
Students with poor attendance and/or academic performance are contacted to determine causes and possible solutions. The OSRR staff works closely with academic advisers, the Academic Assistance Resource Center and Residence Life to offer students the best possible opportunities for success.
Behavioral issues are handled as confidentially as possible and may involve a meeting with the

student of concern to find solutions. Cases may be referred to the student conduct process or, if very serious, may be assessed by the university’s Behavioral Intervention Team (BIT).
BIT • A multidisciplinary team composed predominantly of professional staff members; evaluates extreme behavioral cases to fashion the best possible intervention for a student of concern’s success in all areas of university life.
Student Conduct • Alleged violations of the Student Code of Conduct are handled to ensure procedural due process fairness. Student conduct is viewed as part of the total educational process of the involved student. The Code and these procedures are on the OSRR web page.
IF YOU SEE SOMETHING – SAY SOMETHING.

Student Support. Absence Notifications • Students missing class for legitimate reasons other than university-‐sponsored trips may request a notification be sent to their instructors. This is not an excuse. Instructors have the right to determine the nature of satisfactory documentation.
Student Advocacy • The OSRR is a great starting point for questions or concerns about university policies and procedures. The staff works with students to find answers, make appropriate referrals and coach them in difficult situations.
