THE OUTPATIENT BEHAVIORAL HEALTH CENTER AT MOUNT SINAI PROVIDES THE FOLLOWING SERVICES: • Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP)
• Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP)
• Dialectical Behavioral-informed Group Therapy
• Outpatient Psychiatry
• Long Acting Injectable Clinic
Our multidisciplinary team includes board-certifed psychiatrists, licensed mental health counselors, a licensed marriage and family therapist, an advanced nurse practitioner, mental health technicians, and a patient access representative.
WHAT IS PHP? The Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) is a treatment program for patients who are having mental health symptoms that require more services than outpatient therapy/services can provide, but do not require an overnight stay in the hospital.
Patients that are appropriate for this program have a psychiatric diagnosis, history of psychiatric treatment, and actively display symptoms of a severe crisis state and functional decline. This intervention is utilized to prevent inpatient hospitalization and or to further stabilize a patient whom is discharged from a recent psychiatric hospitalization.
WHAT IS IOP? Our Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) is a treatment program designed to provide short term stabilization and resolution for adult individuals suffering from an emotional crisis or exacerbation of their psychiatric condition.
Patients that are appropriate for this program are experiencing an emotional crisis that is considered to require more than a traditional weekly counseling session and for those that may beneft from a structured therapeutic milieu setting.
Patients receive group psychotherapy and psychoeducational groups three times per week, as well as individual and family therapy as needed. A total of 12 hours of therapy is received on a weekly basis.
OFFICE HOURS AND TRANSPORTATION • The Center’s hours are Monday through Friday from
8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
• PHP: 5 days a week Monday through Friday.
• IOP: Monday, Wednesday, and Friday on a weekly basis.
• Transportation is available upon request
