What is an Output?

Output is a data that has been processed into a useful form called information. It is a computer generated information that is displayed on the screen , printed, written to disk or tape, or sent over a communications link to another computerA computer processes input into output

Four common types of Output?

Text - It consists of characters that are used to create words.Graphics – It is a digital representation of non-text information such as drawings, charts, and photographs.Audio – It refers to sound such as music, speech or any other sound.Video - Consists of images that are played back at speeds that provide the appearance of full motion.

What are Output Devices?

An Output device is any computer component capable of conveying information to a user. Commonly used devices include display devices, printers, speakers, headsets, data projectors, facsimile machines and multifunctional devices.

What are Display Devices?

It is an output device that visually conveys text, graphics and video information.Information shown on a display device is often called soft copy, because the information exists electronically and is displayed for temporary period of time.Examples of these are CRT monitors, flat panel display & high-definition televisions.

CRT MONITORS:

It is a display device that consists of a screen housed in a plastic or metal case. The core of it is a large glass tube called Cathode Ray Tube (CRT) The screen of it is coated with pixels that glow when electrically charged.CRT monitors vary in sizes. It also varies in color.

Flat-Panel display - It is a light weight thin screen that consumes less power than CRT monitor.

Monitor Quality:

• The quality of a monitor display depends largely on its resolution, dot pitch, and refresh rate

• The resolution, or sharpness and clarity of it, is related directly to the number of pixels it can display.

What is a Printer?

It is an output device that produces text and graphics on a physical medium such as paper or transparency film .Printed information is called hard copy because the information exists physically and is more permanent form of output more than on a display device. It is grouped in two categories: impact and non-impact

AUDIO OUTPUT

They are the components of a computer that produces music, speech or another sound.Examples of these are: speakers and headsets.

LCD PROJECTOR DLP PROJECTOR

DATA PROJECTORS- Takes the image displayed on the computer screen & projects it onto a screen so that an audience of people can see the image clearly.
