The UGMAP for the Greater Western Region (GWR) is a major outcome of the joint
Government of Fiji (GOF) and Asian Development Bank (ADB) Technical assistance.
This was built on the result of the Urban Policy Action Plan(UPAP)

The Department of Town and Country Planning is undertaking the Urban Village Planning Scheme as part of the Urban Policy Action Plan (UPAP) and Urban Growth Management Plan (UGMAP) A UN funded project.

The land use survey team comprised of members from both the UGMAP GWC Project Team and the UGMAP Urban Village Project Team. The team members were divided into groups and were each given maps outlining their work schedule/timetable and specific work areas to be covered during the first phase of the survey from Namatakula, Sigatoka to Yalalevu, Ba.
METHODOLOGY
The research has both an Indirect Imposed and Indirect Emergent Structure Surveys: This method was largely employed in the field when doing the survey; where both Interviews and Questionnaires were used.
