From the President
By Jim Frakes
Another Year, another President, This one is recycled. I trust you all had a very good year ending and an
exciting start to the New Year.
NEXT MEETING IS FEB 15TH AT GEORGE’S ON BINFORD DUE TO THE 14TH BEING VALENTINES DAY.
THE CIACH POST HOLIDAY PARTY CHANGED TO FEB 4th.
Last year was a lot of fun with the Healey Challenge, thanks to Jim Switzer’s wonderful idea of a driving
contest of finding and documenting various towns and former towns that no longer exist, that had significant
names. Countries, famous world cities and famous Indiana cities were on the list of 77 locations. Those who
participated in the challenge, gathered to enjoy a lot of laughs and stories of our Healey Challenge adventure
while having dinner at the Capri Lounge. While the contest technically ended in a tie (?). I think Janet Belden
deserves an award for an over- the-top documentation of the event, complete with hilarious videos.
Sue and I are looking forward to a very good year of Happy Healey driving and club events plus two weddings,
my Granddaughter Claire in July and Sue’s Granddaughter Chelsea in Oklahoma City. Claire’s is on July 8th, the
day before Conclave 2017 WACO, Texas starts. That is some tough logistics that we have not yet worked out.
Bob Haskell listed most of the major events we plan to attend in the December Overdrive and the rest should
be listed elsewhere in this issue. I hope you can all find time to stretch the legs of your Healey this year and
enjoy what is the best part of Healey events, food, drink and friends. Speaking of friends, we have dug out a

few past event pictures you may enjoy and posted them as; “Blasts from the Past” Conclave 2007 Burlington,
VT.
CARS FOR SALE or WANTED TO BUY
Send me or Steve Halleck any news of cars that are for sale.
Since the Frakes’ recently purchased Bruce and Charlene Gilham’s BJ8, our Red BJ8 will be up for
sale after we get the rebuilt engine ready to go. Just a few more tweaks of the install.
Jim Switzer informed me former CI-AHCA club member Steve Martin may be looking for a spitfire or a
Triumph TR4 or 6. Of course we would like to see the Martin’s in a Healey, but we would love to
welcome them into our Healey Club also.
Tech Sessions
None scheduled that I am aware of. Please contact me if assistance is needed. 317-697-6441.

From the Editor
By Steve Halleck
34 years in IT, but I’m NOT good on PCs. I’m also not a prolific writer – or I’d be trying to write for
Classic Motorsports! The point is, I really can use feedback and input for the newsletter!
What would you like to see in the newsletter or on the web page? [email protected]
It has finally turned to January weather-wise, and I hate it. Before the bottom fell out of the of the
thermometer, I was able to get the Bugeye out for a little while in December while my son was in town
for the holidays. I also got a little space freed up in the garage when I sent the old engine and
transmission off to the new owner in Oregon. Shipping large items can be a real pain.
Without heat in the garage, not much is happening. The distributor is off to Advanced Distributors
and the ‘new’ 3.9 rear end is being rebuilt to go into the car. Hopefully then I won’t be trying to shift at
45mph when I’m already in 4th.
As much as I hate winter, I was reminded the other day of how good we’ve had it lately. It
could always be worse! Remember ’78?
