Pre-K2 NewsAs an Exit Point for the ‘My Toy Shop’ unit, the Pre-K2 classes prepared a “Teddy Bears Picnic” with stories, dances, and games. The children brought their favourite toy or teddy to play with their friends, and shared what they learned throughout the unit. The children prepared ‘honey’ and ‘fairy bread’ sandwiches for the event to enjoy with friends. They also made several

elaborated crafts, including teddy bear headbands, teddy bear paper dolls, and necklaces to celebrate this day. During the picnic, the Koalas and Cubs enjoyed a story time session, dances, and several games. The children had a great time rejoicing the picnic and the activities,

celebrating the end of the unit.

Pre-K1 NewsIn the ‘Little Movers Make Big Strides’ unit, the children had plenty of opportunities to participate in many physical activities to strengthen their core and small muscles as part of their brain development. Throughout the unit, it has been observed that the children absolutely enjoyed the gross motor and sensory activities. By the end of the unit, it was lovely to hear the children describing their play experiences and sharing about how they felt in simple words. During our Exit Point, the children shared what they have learnt with their parents via the 3-Way Conferences. It was wonderful to see the constant interactions between the parents and the children. What a great ending to our ‘Little Movers Make Big Strides Unit’. As a glimpse of our Exit Point, you can see the children’s enthusiasm fully reflected in the photographs below.

K1 NewsThe K1 children celebrated many milestones this past month. At the 3-Way Conferences, the children were proud to show their parents what they have been doing at the Learning Centres and took them around the activities with confidence. They took pride in creating and

explaining their work in the Art Exhibition and loved receiving all the comments left by the visitors. To complement what we have learnt in our IEYC Unit of Learning, ‘Blast Off!’, we went on a field trip to the Omni Theatre at the Singapore Science Centre and travelled through the galaxy exploring all the planets, moons and asteroids. Through this trip, we realised how much we know about Space compared to when we first started and it was amazing to be immersed in the IMAX experience, pretending to be astronauts flying in Space. We will be coming to an end of our unit soon. We will be celebrating with our friends and family through an Exit Point presentation and sharing our learning journey for the past eight weeks.

Games Day

K2 NewsMarch 2019 was an exciting month for the K2 children, preparing for and performing in the K2 Concert, ‘From A To B’. The children listen to the music and worked with their teachers to plan the appropriate dance moves to synchronise with the music. During the rehearsals and on-stage performances, the children displayed many attributes to help them achieve their Personal Goals, such as communication, resilience, adaptability and cooperation. The children performed confidently in front of a large audience and we were all extremely proud of them. The K2 Team would like to thank parents for their assistance with the costumes and for being such a fantastic audience. As the thrill of the concert came to an end, the fun and excitement continue as the children went on a Pirate Treasure Hunt, our Exit Point for the unit, ‘From A

To B’. The children, teachers and even some of the parents had great fun dressing up as pirates and following a map to hunt for the treasure. The children cooperated and communicated as they used their newly acquired map-reading skills to follow the directions to the treasure box. The children were excited to find the treasure and then had great fun playing some pirate games with Ms Cassie. It was a wonderful end to the unit. ‘Thank you’ to all parents for participating and helping the children with their pirate costumes.
