overture the senses

Too deep the longing moans In velvet dark
cold stars burning
Too strong the leaping heart beats a tattoo
blood ink sinking
Too long the shaking begins
Memories, fire and stone
They won’t let go
I open myself to the blade of grass, the teardrop of water, the grain of sand and hear the
tales of reflection and change - the compelling voice of shadows and death. It pulls me
down into the deep pattern of beginnings.
Watery streams gulp whale song. Its resonance gathers the
collective embrace of every living, organism’s promise and rises in vapour. Air balloons
travel cross our vast globe and absorb the tenure of sun; annotate years.
There is a desert inside me - shifting dunes of red and gold that sparkle white bleached
bones. They speak of rivers that once cascaded ancient memories, ones folded into the fabric
of what was and wait only the breath of awareness.

Cosmos
OCEAN
Blue jewel from space
You cradle the life-force of humanity;
Our past a rolling current
of discovery.
Your waves brought the jigsaw,
the people map to our rugged coastline.
A conundrum made whole over time
Like the wash of sea layering
Fossils and shells.
You are the island home
Of coral reefs,
bright healing potential
keeping colour pristine;
blue-green grace, waiting
To emulsify our tension in your deep salvation.
Lovers in Twilight
Like a thousand crashes of the ocean
Sculpturing rocks into shapes
Both smooth and jagged,
Clean and ancient,
So does our love
Leave a transmutable gift.
