HOBLink JWT is an advanced Java RDP client for the F5 BIG-IP

Access Policy Manager (APM). It provides all BIG-IP APM users

a remote desktop client which enables communication with Win-

dows Remote Desktop Services and much more.

HOBLink JWT is platform-independent and can be directly

downloaded as an applet from the BIG-IP APM. No client-side

installation is required, resulting in less IT admin efforts as well

as reduced total costs of ownership. HOBLink JWT is a purely

software-based solution allowing you to leverage your existing

physical/virtual IT infrastructure without sacrificing security.

Since Java plugins are no longer, or only partially, being suppor-

ted by browser manufacturers, HOB provides solutions that allow

the continued use of Java-based HOB software. As an alternative

to the Java browser plugin, users can choose between Java Web

Start and HOBLaunch (HOB’s proprietary Web Start technology).

JWT Exclusive Features

HOBLink JWT allows users to easily access remote

desktops, servers and virtual infrastructures. In order

to establish a remote connection, users log on to the

F5 Webtop. After a successful authentication, users

will find a HOBLink JWT link, which has been crea-

ted by their admin. By clicking the link, users will be

forwarded to the HOBLink JWT landing page. If their

web browser still supports the Java plugin, the remote

session will automatically start. If not, users can

choose between Java Web Start and HOBLaunch.

When choosing Java Web Start, a .jnlp file will be

downloaded. After opening the file, the remote session

will automatically start. Alternatively, users can choose

HOBLaunch to start their remote session. HOBLaunch

needs to be installed once on the client device. An

installation page, customized for the browser and

operating system being used will be displayed. After

the installation, the remote session can be started as

usual, with just one click.
