Overview of Customer OnboardingCustomer Onboarding Process
The onboarding process involves a series of steps to configure all the elements from setting up the data centerto configuring users and devices:
1. Configure the Data Center and Network components.
2. Configure a domain manager to set up the customer hierarchy, users, and devices.
3. Configure the core collaboration applications such as Cisco Unified Communications Manager and anyadditional components, including Cisco IM and Presence Service and Cisco Unity Connection.
4. Configure HCS Collaboration Mediation and Fulfillment (HCM-F) for platform and infrastructuremanagement and service inventory reporting.
5. Configure Cisco Prime Collaboration Assurance (PCA) for service assurance.
6. Configure access to any third party PBX systems for incoming and outgoing PSTN calls.
Bulk Loading or Manual Configuration
Cisco Hosted Collaboration Solution (HCS) offers two primary methods for customer onboarding:
• The Cisco Unified Communications Domain Manager 10.1.x Administrative Tools/ Bulk Loader Toolis available on the Cisco Unified Communications Domain Manager platform to bulk load informationinto Cisco Unified Communications Domain Manager.
The HCS Intelligent Loader (HIL) reads required information from the Cisco Unified CommunicationsDomain Manager API. HIL is a service that runs on the Cisco Hosted Communications MediationFulfillment node. It takes spreadsheets and mapping templates as input and uses the Cisco UnifiedCommunications Domain Manager API to communicate with Cisco Unified Communications DomainManager to provision elements in the spreadsheet.
• Manual configuration in each of the Cisco HCS software components.

We strongly recommend that you use Bulk Loader. To queue and administer Bulk Loader jobs, you shouldbe familiar with Unified Communications Domain Manager provisioning through the interface.
