Deepwater areas (between 400m
isobath and EEZ
• Onland area: 1.63 million sq km
• Shallow water: 0.41 million sq km
• Deep water: 1.32 million sq km

Overview
• A comprehensive study including G&G, petroleum system modeling and
resource assessment were carried out for all 26 basins
• A total of 177 Plays identified in 26 basins
• 87 in Tertiary,
• 53 in Mesozoic (identified in 14 basins),
• 37 Pre-Mesozoic
• New plays were identified and included viz. basement fractures and
Mesozoic reservoirs
January 2018 OALP blocks-on-offer (Bid Round I) 12
Reassessment results • Hydrocarbon resources were assessed for 26 sedimentary basins across
onland, shallow water and deep waters:
• Total inplace: 41,872 MMTOE
• Discovered: 12,076 MMTOE
• Undiscovered: 29,796 MMTOE
• Last assessment done in 1995-96 for 15 sedimentary basins :

Empowered than ever before
• The blocks-on-offer were picked up by independent assessment of EoI
• Continuous access to NDR for more/missed-out data • Basinal information are now enriched with the latest results of
reassessed hydrocarbon studies • Specific information on hydrocarbon plays are now available
• NDR is setting up the data room • All the E&P data of 55 blocks will be available on two work stations • Industry-standard interpretation software with full G&G
functionality for interpretation will be available in data room itself • A team of four persons can visit data room • Bidders can book data room in advance online and visit the same
on chargeable basis
