This bilingual booklet contains important information about External Undergraduate Scholarships Programmes and includes the list of Higher Education Institutions by country and continent that have been approved by the Oman Ministry of Higher Education (MoHE) for the Direct Entry Scholarship (DES) in view of the academic year 2020/21. The content has been put together and curated by officials working for the MoHE Directorate-General of Scholarships, including the external undergraduate scholarships department, and by the MoHE country representatives based overseas.

ABOUT THE YOUR DECISION, YOUR FUTURE (YDYF) NATIONAL AWARENESS CAMPAIGN The Bilingual Your Decision, Your Future (YDYF) National Awareness Campaign is run by the Oman Ministry of Higher Education and Ministry of Education and has been designed to steer Omani students in grade 10/year 11 - grade 12/year 13 towards well-informed education choices, especially in areas of study that are best suited to their interests, capabilities, and career aspirations. The YDYF national awareness campaign also focuses on guiding Omani students to choose relevant study destinations and suitable higher education institutions in the Sultanate or abroad. This aim is achieved through targeted school visits, tailored presentations and workshops for students, parents and counsellors, publications, and the wider reach of social media. More initiatives have been planned and will be implemented in due course.

ABOUT UNDERGRADUATE SCHOLARSHIPSThe Oman Ministry of Higher Education (MoHE) provides scholarship opportunities for students to pursue their education in specific areas of study in approved higher education institutions. The Sultanate’s scholarship students are meant to develop discipline-specific knowledge, 21st century skills and competencies required for further development and diversification of the national economy. Prospective undergraduate scholarship recipients can pursue courses at research-led universities, as well as at Bachelor’s degree-awarding Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) that focus on the practical applications of knowledge. Scholarship applicants should do thorough research to completely and properly understand what undergraduate scholarships schemes, subject areas, higher education systems and courses are all about. Students are expected to make well-informed decisions that align with their interests, talents, aptitude, learning styles, and career aspirations. Scholarships are awarded based on merit and students should choose wisely and opt for something they are genuinely interested in. Students should therefore make the best use of information provided by experts. This booklet contains information about external undergraduate scholarships and provides insight into the different external scholarships schemes while one of these programmes, the Direct Entry Scholarship (DES) programme, requires prospective applicants to make a timely application to overseas HEIs. Regardless of the course or university that students are planning to apply to, they should note the application deadlines and requirements set by UNIVERSITIES in view of undergraduate admissions while there might be several stages to the admissions processes. For this reason, the Directorate-General of Scholarships, MoHE decided to timely circulate the list of HEIs approved for the DES scholarship programme.

EXTERNAL UNDERGRADUATE SCHOLARSHIPS AND THE INTERNATIONAL ENGLISH LANGUAGE TEST SYSTEM (IELTS) All students planning to competitively apply for an external undergraduate scholarship are advised to take the International English language test system (IELTS) Academic Test by April or May the latest, to avoid a future deferral (delay) of admission. The outcome of the IELTS exam is used for university admission procedures ONLY and your test results will NOT have any bearing on your chances of being awarded a scholarship, unless otherwise specified. The IELTS results are just there to facilitate admission and placement procedures. Students ideally opt for the English language test system (IELTS) for UK Visa & Immigration (UKVI) Academic Test in April or May to avoid a future deferral (delay) of admission. IELTS for UKVI is an English language assessment test that is accepted by all recommended Higher Education Institutions in ALL study destinations and is mandatory for students, who are eligible to pursue a foundation or can directly enter onto a Bachelor’s degree programme in the UK. Students who are not yet proficient in English can opt for the regular academic IELTS. Scholarship recipients, who do not yet meet the minimum English proficiency requirements of the foundation or undergraduate degree programme, will be provided with an opportunity to take an English pre-sessional course and will have to complete this course within one calendar year (12 months). Students who are competitively awarded an external undergraduate scholarship will be reimbursed the IELTS test fee as part of an allowance. OVERVIEW: EXTERNAL UNDERGRADUATE SCHOLARSHIPS PROGRAMMES EXPLAINEDSCHOLARSHIPS BY SUBJECT AND STUDY DESTINATION (SSSD)

These scholarships are in specific areas of study and allocated to specific countries, and include Australia, Canada, Germany, France, Ireland, Malta, Malaysia, New Zealand, the United Kingdom (UK), the Netherlands

and the United States of America (USA)The SSSD scholarships are:• Allocated to a specific country (and, in some cases, two countries) and in one specific course (e.g. Renewable Energy Engineering or Economics - to name a few as there are many other courses available) OR in a number of related courses from which you have to choose (e.g. Actuarial Science and Accounting or Architecture and Landscape Architecture, etc.). For further details, please refer to the student handbook that will be published by the Higher Education Admissions Center (HEAC) in early 2020.• Each broader area of study listed in that handbook will consist of a number of scholarships in either one specific course or in a group of related courses or majors. The courses are selected based on their relevance in view of the needs of the economy and their availability at the Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) that have been approved for the SSSD Scholarship Programme. More information about the HEIs approved for the SSSD scholarships will be published in early 2020 and please note that the lists used for 2019/20 (the previous academic year) may be subject to change. • Relatively speaking, the highest number of undergraduate scholarships are allocated to the SSSD scholarships programme, which are divided over different countries.• Under no normal circumstances, can recipients change their study destination after being awarded the SSSD scholarship and they should therefore choose their destination wisely.• While SSSD scholarship recipients can refer to a list of Higher Education Institutions approved for the SSSD Scholarships (to be published in 2020) to indicate their preferences, the final placement decision rests with the Ministry of Higher Education (usually through its overseas representatives). The Higher Education Institutions vary from research-led* universities to vocationally-oriented and yet Bachelor’s degree awarding institutions. SSSD scholarships cover a pre-sessional language course and/or foundation programme for students who are NOT eligible to enter directly onto an undergraduate degree programme.

MINISTRY OF EDUCATION SCHOLARSHIPS MoE Scholarships for Teachers – (the Codes in HEAC handbook start with ED)

• These scholarships are for students who are interested in becoming primary or secondary school teachers.• The Ministry of Education scholarships are for prospective scholarship recipients, who aim to become teachers in Sciences, Math or English and Primary Education (Special Needs and Early Childhood Education are included based on request from entities other than the MoE).

EXTERNAL UNDERGRADUATE SCHOLARSHIPS THAT ARE FOR HIGH-ACHIEVING STUDENTS ONLY AND COURSES AT RESEARCH-INTENSIVE* OR RESEARCH-LED* UNIVERSITIES

SCHOLARSHIPS IN SCIENCE, TECHNOLOGY, ENGINEERING & (APPLIED) MATHEMATICS (STEM) SCHOLARSHIPS IN EDUCATION, SOCIAL SCIENCES, ARTS AND MANAGEMENT (ESAM)

STEM (SE380 in the HEAC handbook), ESAM (SE390 in the HEAC handbook)• These scholarships are divided into two groups: One for the ‘exact’ Sciences, Technology, Architecture, Engineering and Mathematics and the other for Education, Social Sciences, Arts (and Humanities) and Management.The Greek called this Alpa and Beta and some experts believe that you can even divide students into two groups: Alpha students are usually more into (Pure) Mathematics and Science, while Beta students are more in favour of not only Arts, but also Social Sciences that involve Maths to a certain extent – e.g. Economics. Of course, there are also students out there with overlapping talents or strengths.• STEM is an internationally used acronym. ESAM is an Arabic name and the research team at the DG of Scholarships came up with this title as it is easy for you to remember. • Unless specified otherwise by the overseas country representative (e.g. the cultural attaché office), STEM and ESAM recipients preferably choose from the same list of universities that has been used for the Direct Entry Scholarship (DES) or make an application to any University that has been recommended by the Ministry of Higher Education but only in the countries where the Ministry has country representatives: Australia, Canada, Germany, France, Ireland, New Zealand, the United Kingdom, the Netherlands and the United States of America.• This scholarship consists of majors that belong to STEM or ESAM and the scholarships eligibility criteria are flexible, but you should also bear in mind that some courses may have further requirements. You can choose the preferred major, country and university in August during the registration period and you should make sure you choose a major that is available in that particular country.• Students are not obliged to make an application to a university to competitively apply for this scholarship. However, if you are planning to study in a country other than USA or Canada on a STEM or ESAM scholarship, you are advised to make a prior application to one or more of the recommended universities to avoid delays in view of admission in August. STEM and ESAM scholarship holders who want to study in the USA or Canada but who did not yet make an application to a university, usually enroll in the University Connection Programme - more details will be published in 2020.• Unlike the Direct Entry Scholarship (DES), STEM and ESAM scholarships DO allow students to pursue a pre-sessional course and/or foundation programme, in case you are not eligible to enter directly onto an undergraduate degree programme as per the requirements set by the University.

SCHOLARSHIPS IN MEDICINE, DENTISTRY, VETERINARY MEDICINE,MPHARMListed as SE, followed by a number, in the regular HEAC student handbook

• These scholarships are allocated to specific universities based on agreements with the Ministry of Higher Education.• External undergraduate scholarships in MEDICINE, DENTISTRY, VETERINARY MEDICINE and MPHARM at universities in Australia, Bahrain, Cyprus, Ireland, Malta, New Zealand and Scotland.• Some of these scholarships are interview-based. Interviews are NOT PRIMARILY ABOUT TESTING YOUR ENGLISH LANGUAGE SKILLS, BUT MORE ABOUT YOUR PERSONAL INTEREST IN STUDYING MEDICINE OR DENTISTRY.• Progression to the undergraduate degree course is only an option so long as the scholarship student meets all the further requirements set by the University. The Ministry of Higher Education CANNOT guarantee progression as the University may set further requirements (e.g an aptitude test and/or interview(s)).

The Direct Entry Scholarship (DES)• Direct Entry stands for Direct Entry to an Undergraduate Degree. The Direct Entry Scholarship is an external undergraduate scholarship and also commonly referred to as DES. DES is for students who are able to DIRECTLY ENTER to an UNDERGRADUATE degree and who can compete for this scholarship provided they meet the criteria that includes an offer of admission from one of the Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) approved for this scholarship.• This scholarship does NOT cover a pre-sessional course and/or a foundation pathway, even when it concerns an ‘integrated’ foundation programme (still NOT covered)! DES is the only type of external undergraduate scholarship that requires students to make their their own, timely and prior application to specific universities in order to competitively apply for a scholarship. Students should note the application deadlines set by UNIVERSITIES in view of undergraduate admissions. For this reason, the Directorate-General of Scholarships included the list of HEIs that have been approved for the DES scholarship programme. • By certain dates in July 2020, and the relevant deadlines will be announced by the HEAC in due course, students must submit (upload to the HEAC website) specific documents, including an unconditional letter of acceptance issued by one of the approved universities, AND achieve the minimum requirements (grades) to competitively apply for this scholarship. MEETING ALL THE CRITERIA DOES NOT GUARANTEE YOU WILL BE COMPETITIVELY AWARDED THE DES SCHOLARSHIP AND TIE-BREAKERS APPLY IN CASE THE NUMBER OF CANDIDATES EXCEEDS THE NUMBER OF PLACES. For further details about the DES scholarship eligibility criteria and terms & conditions, please refer to the following page.• As mentioned, students who apply to universities and are offered a place on a foundation programme will not be able to competitively apply for DES. However, they may (no guarantees) be able to use the letter of acceptance once awarded another type of scholarship.This is subject to approval and provided the offer matches their scholarship.

UNIVERSITY OF OMAN SCHOLARSHIPS: UoO (codes in the HEAC handbook start with OE followed by a number)

• These are external (study abroad!) undergraduate scholarships for high-achieving students and are named after the future Government University.The listed courses are in areas deemed relevant to the needs of the future government university along with being vital to the needs of other economic sectors as well.• This university will be a Government University specialising in Science & Technology. The main aim behind this external scholarship programme is to create a talent pool of Omani nationals, who hold an overseas University degree in a relevant area of study to meet the workforce requirements for the future University of Oman. It should be noted that the programme does NOT guarantee employment but you may be eligible to apply for a job vacancy in the future based on your meeting the eligibility requirements for the position;• A number of qualified applicants, who are earmarked for the University of Oman scholarship programme by the Higher Education Admission Center’s (HEAC) electronic system because they meet the minimum requirements and have listed this programme as one of their TOP choices, will have to sit a skills assessment and English language test and attend an interview as well.*When we refer to a university as ‘Research-intensive’ or ‘research-led’ it does not mean you will be sitting in your room or at the library or at a Lab ‘doing research’ the whole day; you will attend lectures and other classes and perhaps even internships (work placements) This depends on the university and type of course you pursue. ‘Research intensive’ just means that the university produces a lot of research – cutting-edge even – and that the teaching and learning approach is partly shaped by the research base and interests of the lecturers (academics) and these interests are reflected in their lectures.

EXTERNAL UNDERGRADUATE SCHOLARSHIPS THAT ARE FOR HIGH-ACHIEVING STUDENTS ONLY AND COURSES AT RESEARCH-INTENSIVE* OR RESEARCH-LED* UNIVERSITIES

AN EXTERNAL UNDERGRADUATE SCHOLARSHIPAPPLICATION TIMELINE, GUIDELINES & LIST OF APPROVED HIGHER EDUCATION

INSTITUTIONS IN VIEW OF THE ACADEMIC YEAR 2020/21

DIRECT ENTRY SCHOLARSHIP (DES)

• THE DIRECT ENTRY SCHOLARSHIP (DES) will be listed as DE001 (scholarship code) in the Student Handbook that will be published by the Higher Education Admissions Center (HEAC) in 2020. • DES is the only type of external undergraduate scholarship that requires students to submit an unconditional letter of acceptance from ONE of the approved HEIs in July 2020. Hence, students should make a timely application to at least one of the approved HEIs for direct entry to an undergraduate degree course. For this reason, the HEIs approved by the Ministry of Higher Education (MoHE) for DES are listed by country and in alphabetical order on the following pages of this document. The terms, conditions and deadlines in view of admissions may differ from one university and/or country to another. Students should note the application deadlines set by universities by referring to their websites. Most reputed universities assess each application holistically and (predicted) school exam results are usually NOT the only information they require (e.g. students might have to write a personal statement, take an admissions and/or standardized tests and/or arrange for teachers’ references, etc). • STUDENTS ARE ADVISED TO LIAISE WITH THE UNIVERSITIES and/or might be required to use appropriate entities that manage admissions (e.g. UCAS in the UK or the Common App in the USA, etc). Students are also strongly advised to consult their careers counsellor to make sure they select a programme and university that suits them as every student has unique needs, capabilities and skills. They should also consider the expected duration of visa application procedures, climate conditions (does the weather suit you?) and expected average costs of living.• To be earmarked as an eligible DES scholarship applicant, students have to submit (upload to the HEAC website) certain documents, including an unconditional offer of a place of study in an undergraduate degree course, by specific dates in July 2020, the relevant deadlines will be announced by HEAC in due course. Students will also have to meet additional eligibility criteria to apply for this scholarship (including a minimum overall grade and/or grades in a number of school subjects) – the official HEAC student handbook will set out the eligibility criteria. • An ‘UNCONDITIONAL’ offer means you met all the requirements set by the University you applied to – ONLY in case you are not expected to receive your final school exam marks (e.g. A-level students) before the relevant deadlines in July 2020, you are allowed to submit a CONDITIONAL letter of acceptance by the same deadline and will be required to submit an unconditional letter of acceptance (from the same university and in the same major) shortly after you receive your final exam results.• DES applicants should submit an offer of admission letter that states the type of degree (and it should concern an undergraduate degree), the name of the programme, start and end date of the programme (total duration) – an incomplete offer of admission shall not be considered.• The course start date cannot fall on a date earlier than August 2020 while students will be allowed to start in the academic year 2020/21 (e.g. either the ‘First or Second Intake’ etc). If the letter of acceptance does not mention a specific start date but rather a semester (e.g. Fall Semester 2020), the student should attach a confirmation issued by the University to confirm that the student will not start their studies earlier than August 2020. If the letter of acceptance does not specify a course or major, the student should attach a letter confirming the intended major as part of their application. If the letter of acceptance has been issued by the University prior to when the student receives his/her final exam results, they will have to attach a proof of enrollment issued on a date after they received their final exam results – a proof of enrollment means a confirmation that you met all the conditions set out in the initial letter of acceptance and this can be an official proof of enrollment or an email sent by the admissions office representing the University. • Students may choose to pursue ANY UNDERGRADUATE degree course, provided it concerns a ‘normal duration’ (e.g. a joint-degree or double major is allowed as long as it does NOT result in an extension of the normal duration of studies). HOWEVER, Medicine, Dentistry, Veterinary Medicine and MPharm (treated as an undergraduate degree) can only be pursued at a limited number of universities and ONLY in the UK, Ireland, Australia or New Zealand. Specific professional degree programmes, such as Law and Architecture, CANNOT be pursued at undergraduate level in certain study destinations, please refer to the lists of approved universities by country on the following pages. • Being awarded a scholarship is NOT an automatic right as the number of eligible candidates may ecxeed the number of places (tiebreakers will be published in the HEAC student handbook), while applications may be refused if certain terms and conditions have not been met.• DES applicants should realise that they cannot transfer to another university at a later stage, unless it concerns an institution that is ranked higher in the Shanghai ARWU 2019 league table than the one that made the initial offer and provided the student does not transfer to another country or major/area of study (as per the initial letter of acceptance) and a transfer cannot result in an extension (of the normal duration of studies).• DES is NOT the only type of external undergraduate scholarship (please refer to the general overview of external undergraduate scholarships) and not all students should aim to seek an exemption from pursuing a foundation programme as not all school curricula prepare for a direct entry – e.g. in the United Kingdom, General Education Diploma (GED) – certificate holders are normally not exempted from having to pursue a foundation programme – this does NOT mean you are not ‘smart enough’, it just means that your curriculum is not considered ‘mature’ enough for you to directly enter onto an undergraduate degree course and a foundation programme may help you prepare for this.• While the information in this booklet, including the list of approved HEIs, has been selected with care and is considered to be true and correct at the date of publication, the content might be subject to changes without further notice. Students may make an application to any of the following universities in Asian countries and in any undergraduate degree course, EXCEPT for in Medicine, Dentistry, Veterinary Medicine or MPharm. The DES scholarship does NOT cover any pre-sessional or foundation course.

A number of the following Higher Educations Institutions are approved for external undergraduate scholarships in Medicine, Dentistry, Veterinary Medicine or Mpharm ONLY and not for any other courses, these have been marked in red. Students should be aware of the fact that universities in the UK, as per UK rules and regulations, are NOT able to exempt General Education Certificate (GED)-holders from having to pursue a foundation programme.

.)DE001( سوف يرمز لبعثات برنامج القبول المباشر في دليل الطاب الذي يصدره مركز القبول الموحد بالرمز •• تنصــح وزارة التعلــم العالــي الطلبــة الراغبيــن فــي التنافــس علــى برنامــج القبــول المباشــر البــدا فــي إجــراءات الحصــول ــي 2021/2020 ــام االكاديم ــجيل للع ــد التس ــاء موع ــرب انته ــك لق ــة وذل ــات التعليمي ــع المؤسس ــل م ــول والتواص ــى القب عل

فــي كثيــر مــن الجامعــات.• القبــول المباشــر هــو برنامــج البعثــات الخارجيــة الوحيــد الــذي يتطلــب مــن المتنافــس الحصــول علــى قبــول غيــر مشــروط مــن إحــدى مؤسســات التعليــم الجامعــي المعتمــدة خصيصــا لهــذا الرمــز التنافســي وهــو DE001 )أنظــر قائمــة

الجامعــات المعتمــدة لهــذا الرمــز(.• اعتمــدت وزارة التعليــم العالــي ممثلــة فــي المديريــة العامــة للبعثــات قائمــة مــن الجامعــات لبرنامــج القبــول المباشــر والتــي تجدونهــا مرفقــة مــع هــذه النشــرة، وتأتــي مرتبــة أبجديــا. ينصــح الطلبــة وأوليــاء األمــور بقراءتهــا جيــدا واالطــاع

علــى أيــة أحــكام خاصــة تــرد فيهــا.• تنصــح وزارة التعليــم العالــي الطلبــة الراغبيــن فــي التنافــس علــى برنامــج بعثــات القبــول المباشــر علــى تقديــم الطلبــات ــع ــدت ، م ــة إن وج ــي كل دول ــات ف ــدم للجامع ــمية للتق ــات الرس ــر الهيئ ــا أو عب ــر معه ــل المباش ــر التواص ــات عب للجامعاستشــارة المختصيــن بالتوجيــه المهنــي بالمــدارس إلعانتهــم فــي هــذا الجانــب، حيــث إن لــكل طالــب احتياجــات ومهارات

طلــب غيــر مســتوف للشــروط المعلــن عنهــا أو يقــدم منقوصــا مــن الوثائــق المطلوبــة.• ال يحــق للطالــب االنتقــال إلــى أيــة مؤسســة بعــد حصولــه علــى بعثــة فــي رمــز القبــول المباشــر إال إن كان االنتقــال إلــى جامعــة ذات مرتبــة أعلــى فــي تصنيــف شــانجهاي العالمــي للجامعــات فــي ذات الدولــة، ودون تغييــر فــي التخصــص أو

• بعثــات القبــول المباشــر هــي بعثــات للطلبــة المؤهليــن بدراســة برنامــج البكالوريــوس مباشــرًة فــي التخصــص، شــريطة ــات ــدى مؤسس ــن إح ــر م ــول المباش ــر القب ــن توفي ــي تتضم ــب والت ــل الطال ــي دلي ــة ف ــر الموضوع ــتيفائهم للمعايي اس

التعليــم العالــي المحــددة لهــذا النــوع مــن البعثــات.• يجــب علــى الطالــب المتقــدم لهــذا النــوع مــن البعثــات أن يكــون حاصــا علــى قبــول لدرجــة البكالوريــوس مباشــرًة فــي التخصــص، اضافــة الكلمــة التاليــة بعــد كلمــة مباشــرة وهــي كالتالــي : فــي التخصــص، دون دراســة ســنة اللغــة أو الســنة

النحضيريــة أو الســنة التأسيســية.• يجــب علــى الطلبــة )المؤهليــن للتنافــس علــى هــذه البعثــة( ارفــاق رســالة العــرض النهائــي والغيــر المشــروط إضافــة الــى تحقيقــه للحــد االدنــى مــن متطلبــات التنافــس لهــذه البعثــة وذلــك حتــى يســتطيعوا الدخــول فــي التنافــس عليهــا مــا لــم يكونــوا مــن طلبــة A- level )ســيتم اإلعــان عــن التاريــخ المحــدد لنهايــة اســتقبال الطلبــات عــن طريــق مركــز القبول الموحــد(. كمــا ان اســتيفاء الطالــب لجميــع الشــروط ال يعنــي ضمــان الحصــول علــى المقعــد وانمــا مــا زال عليهــم دخــول التنافــس للحصــول عليــه وفــي حــال زاد عــدد الطلبــة المتقدميــن لهــذه البعثــة عــن عــدد المقاعــد المحــددة ففــي هــذه

• تم تسمية هذه البعثات باسم الجامعة الحكومية المستقبلية في السلطنة )جامعة عمان(• جامعة عمان هي جامعه حكومية متخصصة في العلوم والتكنولوجيا.

• الهــدف الرئيســي مــن هــذه البعثــات هــو إعــداد كــوادر وطنيــة مــن حملــة الشــهادات الجامعيــة )أكاديمييــن وإدارييــن وفنييــن( لتلبيــة متطلبــات العمــل فــي جامعــة عمــان فــي المســتقبل.

• ال تضمــن جامعــة عمــان التوظيــف لجميــع الخريجيــن مــن هــذا البرنامج بهــا، وإنما فقط من هــم مؤهلين والمســتوفين للشــروط ســتكون لديهــم الفرصــة للتقديــم للوظائــف في حال توفــر الشــواغر الوظيفية في المســتقبل.

عندمــا نشــير إلــى الجامعــة علــى أنهــا )جامعــة بحثيــة(، فــإن هــذا ال يعنــي بــأن تكــون الدراســة فــي غرفــة منفصلــة، أو أن يقضــي الطالــب وقتــه فــي مكتبــة الجامعــة، أو فــي مختبــر “إلجــراء بحــث مــا” طــوال اليــوم. فســوف يكــون للطالــب محاضــرات يجــب ــى ــد عل ــك يعتم ــا ش ــذا ب ــل ( وه ــع العم ــي مواق ــي )ف ــب عمل ــام بتدري ــه القي ــب من ــان يتطل ــض األحي ــي بع ــا، وف ــه حضوره عليــاث ــن األبح ــد م ــا العدي ــي لديه ــة الت ــة التعليمي ــي المؤسس ــة ه ــة البحثي ــب. الجامع ــي للطال ــص الدراس ــوع التخص ــة ون الجامع

• البعثــات الخارجيــة STEM و ESAM هــي بعثــات دراســية مرنــة -كانــت تعــرف ســابًقا ببعثــات الفئــة “أ” - وهــي مخصصــة للطلبــة المجيديــن علميــً. حيــث يحــق للطلبــة الحاصليــن علــى هــذه البعثــة اختيــار الوجهــة الدراســية والمؤسســة STEM & التعليميــة )القائمــة هــي نفــس القائمــة المخصصــة لبعثــات القبــول المباشــر أو القوائــم المخصصــة لبعثــاتESAM فــي بعــض دول االبتعــاث أو أي جامعــة اخــرى معتمــدة وموصــى بالدراســة بهــا مــن قبــل الــوزارة )المعرفــي(، اثنــاء

شــهر أغســطس. • تغطي هذه األنواع من البعثات برامج اللغة وبرنامج السنة التأسيسية اضافة الى البرنامج االكاديمي للتخصص.

• تــم تخصيــص البعثــات الخارجيــة لبرامــج الطــب، وطــب األســنان، والطــب البيطــري فــي جامعــات محــددة بنــاء علــى اتفــاق بيــن تلــك المؤسســات وبيــن وزارة التعليــم العالــي، باســتثناء تخصصــات الصيدلــة )للطالــب أكثــر مــن خيــار ليختــار منهــذه التخصصــات(.

• الوجهــات الدراســية لتخصصــات (الطــب، وطــب األســنان، والطــب البيطــري، والصيدلــة. هــي: أســتراليا، ومملكــة البحريــن، وقبرص، وإيرلنــدا، ومالطــا، ونيوزيلندا، وإســكتلندا.

• يرجــى مــن الطلبــة بعــدم التوتــر اثنــاء اجــراء المقابلة.حيــث أن هــذه المقابلــة تهــدف الــى اكتشــاف شــخصية الطالــب ورغبتــه فــي دراســة تخصــص الطــب.

• عمليــة تقــدم الطالــب فــي الدراســة والتحاقــه بالبرنامــج األكاديمــي للتخصــص مرهــون بتحقيــق الطالــب لجميــع متطلبــات الجامعــة واجتيازهــا بنجــاح. لــذا فــان وزارة التعليــم العالــي ال تضمــن حصــول الطالــب علــى مقعــد فــي البرنامــج األكاديمــي فــي

التخصــص بســبب وجــود متطلبــات اخــرى مــن قبــل الجامعــة يتحتــم علــى الطالــب اجتيازهــا أو توفيرهــا.

ان البعثــات الخارجيــة حســب التخصــص ووجهــة االبتعــاث )SSSD( هــي بعثــات حكوميــة يتــم منحهــا لطلبــة شــهادة الدبلــوم العــام أو مــا يعادلهــا والذيــن أحــرزوا معــدالت بتقديــر )جيــد - ممتــاز( فــي نتائجهــم الدراســية النهائيــة. تتوفــر ــي ــب البحث ــى الجان ــتها عل ــز دراس ــي ترتك ــة الت ــات البحثي ــي الجامع ــة ف ــات الخارجي ــج البعث ــية لبرام ــات الدراس التخصص

)النظــري( وفــي مؤسســات التعليــم العالــي التــي تتركــز دراســتها علــى التعليــم التطبيقــي.

)SSSD( البعثات الخارجية حسب التخصص ووجهة االبتعاث

بعثات حسب التخصص والوجهة الدراسية )SSSD( والتي كانت تعرف سابًقا ببعثات الفئة )ب(، حيث تم تغيير مسماها منذالعام األكاديمي 201٨ - 201٩ م

تم تخصيص هذه البعثات الدراسية لتكون في مجاالت دراسية محددة من الدراسة، كما تم تخصيص عددًا منالوجهات الدراسية في )إستراليا، كندا، المانيا، فرنسا، ايرلندا، مالطا، ماليزيا، نيوزلندا، ازالة دولة بولندا المملكة المتحدة،

هولندا، الواليات المتحدة االمريكية(.تبدأ رموز برنامج البعثات حسب التخصص والوجهة الدراسية

SE في دليل الطالب بالرمز

: )SSSD( عادة ما تكون بعثات حسب التخصص والوجهة الدراسية• في تخصص محدد واحد )مثل هندسة الطاقة المتجددة، االقتصاد وغيرها(.

• أو فــي عــدد محــدود مــن التخصصــات ذات الصلــة )مثــل العلــوم االكتواريــة والمحاســبة( مجتمعــة مًعــا تحــت رمــز واحــد )وهــذا يعنــي أنــه يتعيــن علــى الطالــب اختيــار أي منهــا بعــد منحــه هــذه البعثــة( فــي وقــت الحــق اثنــاء اســتكمال إجــراءات البعثــة فــي

موقــع الــوزارة.• تم تخصيص وجهة دراسية محددة لهذا النوع من البعثات.

• تخصيــص العــدد األكبــر مــن البعثــات الدراســية الخارجيــة للمرحلــة الجامعيــة األولــى تحــت هــذا النــوع مــن البعثــات، حيــث تــم تقســيمها إلــى عــدد مــن الوجهــات الدراســية المختلفــة.

• ال يحــق للطالــب الحاصــل علــى هــذا النــوع مــن البعثــات تغييــر الوجهــة الدراســية بعــد الحصــول عليهــا، كمــا يجــب عليــه أن يختــار تخصصــه الدراســي بحكمة.

• ال يحق للطالب المطالبة بالدراسة في الجامعات المفضلة لديه، ما لم ينص على خاف ذلك.• يرجى من الطالب الرجوع إلى قوائم مؤسسات التعليم العالي الموصى بالدراسة بها حسب البلد في هذا العدد.

• تختلــف مؤسســات التعليــم العالــي مــا بيــن جامعــات بحثيــة ترتكــز دراســتها علــى الجانــب البحثي(النظــري) وبيــن مؤسســات تعليــم عالــي تتركــز دراســتها علــى التعليــم التطبيقــي (تمنــح درجــة البكالوريــوس)، كمعاهــد التكنولوجيــا فــي إيرلنــدا،

الحملة اإلعامية التوعية قرارك، مستقبلكقرارك، مستقبلك هي حملة إعامية توعية تشرف عليهــا كا من وزارة التربية والتعليم ووزارة التعليم الجامعية استهم لدر والسليم الواعي القرار اتخاذ في الطلبة مساعدة إلى الحملة تهدف العالي. األولى خاصة فيما يتعلق باختيار برامجهم الدراسية التي تتناسب مع قدراتهم العلمية، واهتماماتهم، المناسبة، الدراسية الوجهة الختيار الطلبة توجيه على الحملة تركز كما الوظيفية. وتطلعاتهم العديد الحملة تنظم الهدف هذا ولتحقيق خارجها. أو السلطنة داخل سواء التعليمية والمؤسسة من الزيارات الميدانية إلى المدارس، باإلضافة إلى عقد ورشات عمل للطلبة وأخصائيو التوجيه الوظيفي،

وإصدار مطبوعات بصفة دورية للطلبة.

البعثات الدراسية للمرحله الجامعيه األولىفي للمساهمة للطلبة فرصة توفر السنوية الخارجية للبعثات طرحها عبر العالي التعليم وزارة ان إضافة والعشرين. الحادي القرن بمجاالت الخاصة المعرفة اكتساب عبر الوطن هذا وبناء وتطور نمو الى التزود بالمهارات الازمة التي توفرها للتكيف مع متطلبات سوق العمل المتغيرة كالتفكير الناقد المهارات. الذات وغيرها من الجماعي، والتواصل، واالعتماد على المشكات، والعمل والمستقل، وحل ولكي يكون الطالب عنصرا إيجابيا يساهم بفاعلية في نمو بلده, عليه التأكد من اختيار الطريق الصحيح لمستقبله، حيث يبدأ ذلك من خال اختياره لبرامج التعليم العالي التي تتناسب مع اهتماماته ومواهبه

وقدراته وتطلعاته المهنية.

)IELTS( البعثات الدراسية الخارجية وأختبار اللغة اإلنجليزيةُينصح جميع الطلبة الراغبين في الدراسة بالخارج )البعثات الخارجية( بإجراء اختبار تحديد مستوى اللغة اإلنجليزية (IELTS) في شهر أبريل أو مايو وذلك تجنبا ألي تأخير في إجراءات القبول. سوف يتم استخدام نتائج اختبار (IELTS) في إنهاء إجراءات القبول في الجامعات كما أنه يعد شرط إلزامي في التنافس على

بعض برامج البعثات الخارجية كما سيرد الحقا في دليل الطالب.

IELTS for UKVI يعد متطلبا اجباريا للطلبة الراغبين في بما أن اختبار تحديد مستوى اللغة اإلنجليزية الدراسة بالمملكة المتحدة والمؤهلين لمباشرة دراسة السنة التأسيسية او السنة األولى، وكون أن هذا االختبار مقبول في جميع الوجهات الدراسية األخرى فإننا نوصي الطلبة بالتقدم لهذا النوع من االختبار

ما لم تكن المملكة المتحدة ليست ضمن خيارات الطالب.

سوف يتم منح الطلبة الحاصلين على بعثة دراسية خارجية تعويضا ماليا عن إجراء اختبار (IELTS) ضمن IELTS for UKVI في سلطنة عمان حزمة الطالب. للمزيد من المعلومات حول أمكان إجراء اختبارات
