Held in conjunction with The Ohio Challenge (OC) Hot Air Balloon Festival, and organized by Team Fastrax Professional Skydiving Team, this event takes place July 912, 2015, at Smith Park/Hook FieldMiddletown Regional Airport (Middletown, Ohio). The Warrior Weekend to Remember (WTR) is an exciting combination of activities meant to enrich the lives of our activeduty and veteran men and women injured in combat deployments abroad, with priority given to Purple Heart recipients. Up to thirty Wounded Warriors will participate throughout the weekend and the combination of activities is sure to put a smile on their face. Some elements of the weekend are OPEN TO THE PUBLIC. For more information on this exciting weekend, visit us at http://warriorwtr.com. About Blue Skies for the Good Guys & Gals Warrior Foundation Formed in 2005 by the Team Fastrax Professional Skydiving Team, the Blue Skies for the Good Guys & Gals Warrior Foundation provides a skydiving program for wounded veterans of America's Armed Forces. In its first year, the Foundation provided 27 wounded warriors with the opportunity to experience the freedom of skydiving. Last year the Foundation took more than 350 of our heroes skydiving. The program is primarily funded through the gracious support of Selection.com®, America's premier background screening company, and through individual donations. The Foundation staff is made up of volunteers from Team Fastrax, and 100% of funds raised go directly to support our warrior events. In 2012 Team Fastrax partnered with the Halo for Freedom Foundation to support the Warrior Weekend to Remember in Dallas, Texas. We fell in love with this event and decided to build upon the success in Dallas by bringing it to our home base of operations in Middletown, Ohio. In 2014, with the assistance of the Halo for Freedom Foundation, we hosted the Selection.com® Ohio Challenge Hot Air Balloon Festival & Warrior Weekend to Remember. The success and community response was so overwhelming that we decided to make the Blue Skies for the Good Guys & Gals Warrior Foundation a nonprofit 501c3 charity, and are currently pending final designation. Taxdeductible donations can still be made the Halo for Freedom Foundation as we remain very much involved with this sister Foundation. We would appreciate you making your donation directly to the locallybased Blue Skies for the Good Guys & Gals Warrior Foundation to support our foundation’s primary goal “to create new memories that will last a lifetime for America’s heroes.” Key Warrior Weekend to Remember Organizers Since 2002, Team Fastrax has performed thousands of exhibition skydives at every national and international entertainment venue imaginable. Performing as far away as Moscow, Russia and Normandy, France, Team Fastrax is comprised predominately of military veterans, both men and women, and is proud to jump our nation’s flag and our wounded warrior heroes. The organization provides support for wounded warriors as they face the many challenges they encounter during their rehabilitation, reintegration, and healing process. HALO for Freedom Warrior Foundation strives to make the public aware of the needs of our wounded veterans and the role played by the foundation. www.haloforfreedoom.org The Ohio Challenge Hot Air Balloon Festival Officially Presented by Selection.com is a public/private partnership organized by The Middletown Area Chamber Foundation’s Ohio Challenge Committee. Since 2003 it has grown to become one of southwestern Ohio’s premier summer events and includes local nonprofit organizations along with a core support of our nation’s military, past and present. The event boasts a festival atmosphere with mass balloon launches, skydiving, fireworks, rides, and live entertainment as up to 40 hot air balloon pilots compete for The Ohio Challenge title and BFA’s Great Lakes Regional Championship, while qualifying for the U.S. National Hot Air Balloon Championship. www.ohiochallenge.com Key Contacts Warrior Event Director: David Hart, [email protected] Sponsorship: John Hart II, [email protected] Applications/Registration: Julie Harris, [email protected] Ultimate Adventure and 10Gun Raffles: Perry Davis, [email protected] Golf Outing Scramble: Thursday, July 9, 2015 – Wildwood GC, Middletown, Ohio Gary Holden, [email protected] 5k/10k Run/Walk: Saturday, July 11, 2015 – Smith Park, Middletown, Ohio Matt Harvey, [email protected] Gold Star Family Tribute 12/25/50 Mile Bicycle: Sunday, July 12, 2015 – Smith Park, Middletown, Ohio Gene Newsom, [email protected]
