7. Hi/LowshaftconnectedtoHi/Lowmotor.
9. Installthecastersbyinsertingthe stemofthecasterintotheleg receptacle.Itisrecommendedto install1lockingcasterand1non- lockingcasteroneachbedend. Thelockingcastersshouldbe installeddiagonallyfromeachother.
8. Connectheadsectionandfootsection bysqueezingtogetherandattaching withspringlinks.Pullupthehead sectionandfootsectiontorelease tensionbetweenthesprings.

10.Withbedonsideextendtheshaftuntilit reachesthefulllengthofbed.
a. NOTE:Theshaftadjustmentholesare markedtoindicatethestyle(semi/full)ofbed theshaftisbeinginstalledon.
11. Attachtheheadboardandfootboard asshown.
a. NOTE:Theheadsectionishigherthan thefootsection.However,theyare interchangeablewitheachother,withall otherDriveandothermanufacturers headandfootboards.

12.Installtheheadendoftheshaftas shown.
13.Releasethespringloadedshafton thehi/lowmotorandinserttheshaft intothegearboxonthefootboard.
14.Makesuretheslotonthespring loadedshaftengagestherollpinon thegearbox.
NOTE:Beforeinstallingmotor,plughandpendantandHi/Lowmotorcableintomotorasshown
14.Connectthe9Vbattery(soldseparately)tothe batterycliponthemotor.Itisstoredintherecess underthemotorcover.Withthisbatteryinstalled, themotorcanbeoperatedintheeventofapower failure.
15. Toinstallmotor,removelockingcapsontopof themotor.

TheCompetitorbedcomeswithahandcontrolthatwillilluminatewhenthebedispluggedintoagroundedorpolarizedwalloutlet,orwith9Vbattery(soldseparately)installedinthehandcontrol.Thehandcontrolwillilluminateaslongasthewallorbatteryhaspower.Withthisbatteryinstalled,themotorcanbeoperatedtoreturnthesleepsurfacetothehorizontalpositionintheeventof apowerfailure.

16.Alignthemotorwiththeactuatorbar andlifttheheadspringtothehighest position.Themotorwillautomatically bepulledtowardsthebedandlock ontotheaccuator.Repeatforfoot section.
17.Afterthemotorisinstalled,slide lockingcoversbackonmotor.

b. FullRails • Thefootandheadsectionhavecolor codedsprings,labelsandnotchesinthe frame. • Installthecrossbracebetweentheblack springsforproperrailplacement.
a. Halfrails• Theheadsectionfeatureslabelsonthe framemarked,“AttachHalfRailsHere” andblackspringsforproperplacement.
Optional Fixed Height Adjustment
a. Thefourlargepinsareusediftheheight ofthebedistobelockedatasetheight. Settheheightofthebedsothatthehole inthelegisalignedwiththeholeinthe bedendouterleg.Insertthepinthrough eachofthefourlegsandinstallthe springcliponeach.
20.Beforeamattressislaidonthebed,flip upthemattressguardtoreducethe movementofthemattress.

CLEANING• Themetalpartsofthebedarecoveredwithapowdercoating.Cleanallcoatedpartswithmild detergentandwarmwater.Periodicallyraiseheadandfeetsectionsofthebedandremovedust fromframe.Also,periodicallyremovemattressandcleanmattressdeck.
LUBRICATION & MECHANICAL• Lightlygreaseallactuatorscrewthreadswithwhitelithiumgrease.• Lubricateallcasterrollerandswivelbearingswithlightmachineoil.• Checkallboltsandtightenasneeded.
WARRANTY• Lifetimewarrantyonwelds.• 5yearwarrantyonframe.• 5yearwarrantyonmotor.• 1yearwarrantyonallotherpartsandcomponents.Duringthewarrantyperiod,defectiveitemswillberepairedorreplacedatDrive’soptionatnocharge.
