Oxford Elementary Learning · Students and families can expect a “Weekly Planner” posted to Haiku by 9:00 am every Monday · Suggested time for daily independent practice and learning at home (of course, we encourage longer if possible) DK: 30 minutes K-1: 45 minutes 2-3: 60 minutes 4-5: 90 minutes · Teachers will provide direct instruction on Tuesdays and Thursdays. On Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, students should spend time completing the independent tasks/activities found in the Weekly Planner. · Direct instruction Zoom sessions: DK - 1 9:00 am to 9:45 am 2-3 10:00 am to 10:45 am 4-5 11:00 am to 11:45 am · Teachers will have office hours in which they are available to provide in-depth support if needed. · One assignment per week will be given and collected to provide feedback and monitor student learning and engagement. · Independent tasks/activities include reading, writing, math, science, social studies, IB Exhibition (5th grade), PE, music, Art, Spanish, IB extensions, and social-emotional learning. Students will not receive standards-based grades (3, 2, 1) for the Trimester 3 report card. Instead, teachers will provide a written description of the students’ learning progress and engagement from April 20, 2020 through June 5, 2020.
