Fundraising Goal for the Vinalhaven College Scholarship Endowment $350,000 With $140,000 raised as of Spring 2018, Partners in Island Education has $210,000 more to raise to reach our goal of $350,000 for our Vinalhaven College Scholarship Endowment. What is PIE’s Ogden/Chaffey Scholarship?

Established in Spring 2010, PIE’s Ogden/Chaffey Scholarship (OCS) is a one-time award of $500–$2000 for graduating students enrolling in a a 1– or 2–year post-secondary or vocational program. Applicants are considered primarily for their work experience, and community and volunteer activities. Academic achievement, school activities, recommendations and personal goals are considered but given less emphasis. If no applicants apply to attend a post-secondary or vocational program, the Scholarship may, at the discretion of the Committee, be awarded to a qualified student attending a 4-year school.

Application Criteria for Vinalhaven College Scholarship Ogden/Chaffey Scholarship

Applicants to both Scholarships submit:• Application Form• Financial Information Form• Resume• High School Transcript

Note: Students awarded a Scholarship who decide to take time off from school at any point, or to change college programs, are asked to submit a statement explaining their new plans, with the understanding that their eligibility for the Scholarship will be reconsidered in light of the new information.

What is PIE’s Vinalhaven College Scholarship?

Established in Spring 2006, the Vinalhaven College Scholarship (VCS) is a 4-year renewable scholar-ship of $2000, awarded to a graduating senior who will attend a four-year college or university. Applicants are considered for their academic achievement, school and community involvement, personal statement of goals, recommendations, and the strength of their connection to the community. This scholarship is not primarily need-based but financial information is reviewed. SAT scores and class rank are not considered. This year we are very pleased to award three Vinalhaven College Scholarships.
