Professional Summary:

Peter is an Engineer with over forty years experience in the power and process industry. His core specialist knowledge includes design of thermal power plant covering fuels, phases and control of combustion, flue gas chemistry, heat transfer, steam and water loop, generating systems and abatement technology,

He is currently an independent Biomass Energy Consultant.

He was previously Vice President & Chief Engineer of HRE Services Ltd, a UK based specialist engineering subsidiary of the US based Fibrowatt LLC, a company specialising in the development of biomass power plant in the US and internationally.

Within the last ten years he has been responsible for the preparation of the front end engineering design of Fibrowatt Apeldoorn 33MW and Minnesota (Benson) 55MW(s.o.) poultry litter biomass power plants. He was author of the project design basis for the project critical biomass handling, combustion, heat recovery, ash handling, and emissions control sections of these plants. The Minnesota plant was commissioned in mid 2007 and is now in commercial operation.

Between 1995 and 2000 he held senior design responsibility for the Thetford 38MW (mixed poultry) biomass plant. His responsibility with Thetford included the project control of Thetford power station through the design, construct, commission, performance testing and early operation phases. This work continued with the owner to 2006 full time and until present part time, advising on all design related operational matters.

During the last twenty five years he has held engineering and management positions both in UK and overseas, including those of Technical Manager for the Drax Power Station Completion Phase, Construction Manager at the Thorp Reprocessing facility, BNFL Sellafield and Site Project Manager at BP Grangemouth KG Ethylene. Experience abroad includes supervision of power station refurbishment in Sudan, sugar mill plant installation in Pakistan ,management of high pressure pipework installation at Hwange Power Station Zimbabwe and boiler assessment and design review in a number of countries in South America, Africa and Europe

He has also attended the EITB management course at Henley Management College and has been awarded Fellowship of the Engineering Industry Training Board.

His experience with Babcock in power plant engineering and thermal process design was followed in 1995 by a new assignment with Foster Wheeler Energy UK as Employer’s Representative and Project Engineering Manager on behalf of the developer of the Thetford Biomass Power Station Project, Fibrowatt Ltd.

Following completion of the Thetford project Peter was recruited as a direct employee of the Date: April 2023
