Thank You from Gahan House On behalf of the Board of Gahan House, the Staff and Residents, we want to express our sincere thanks to Local Minister, Ann Phelan, TD, for her continued hard work and support of Gahan House and the Supported Care Homes in general. This weeks announcement that we have been allocated €197,550 in once off additional funding to deal with the deficit in revenue and outstanding capital works, will have a very real and lasting impact on Gahan House and ensure our development and sustainability into the future. As a Supported Care Home, we are subject to HIQA inspections and requirements, which naturally, due to limited funding within the HSE, means that we have been put under a lot of financial pressure and strain. Ann has consistently worked with us at every stage. She has in many respects been the lone voice for us and for this sector, fighting for us at every level, meeting with and lobbying Minister Kathleen Lynch and the HSE, outlining our concerns and the financial pressures that were on us. The services we provide at Gahan House ensure that those who need to avail of day care services or residential care, in order to remain in their own community, can. This weeks announcement is testament to the hard work that was undertaken and we want to genuinely thank you and your office for all of your work. We look forward to working with you into the future and wish you and your family a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. We would also like to take the opportunity to thank each and every one of you in the Community for your continued support of Gahan House through your donations and fundraising activities. We would like to thank John Walsh, Undertaker and the Gravediggers for their professionalism and kindness. Finally, we would like to thank all the people who helped in the hall. It was a beautiful atmosphere at such a sad time. As a mark of appreciation the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass will be offered for your intentions. Davie’s Months Mind Mass will be celebratedin Duiske Abbey on Saturday 19th December at 11am.

CONCERT FOR CRUMLIN CHILDRENS HOSPITAL

I would like to take this opportunity to thank most sincerely all those who helped to make the concert such a success and in doing so helped to raise the not insignificant amount of E900 for the Hospital. A most enjoyable night was had by all. Lynda Brown, Breda Foley, Peter Prendergast, P J Williams and Clive Canning are due an enormous amount of credit for all their hard work. Wheel Barrow: Our annual fundraiser “Wheelbarrow of drinks” is on the road.
