Temporary interfaces
• The target is not a table, but a sub-select
• The interface can
be used as a
source
• Must be enabled
at Technology level

• When using the temporary interface as a source, check
“Use Temporary Interface as Derived Table (Sub-Select)
• Checkbox may be inactive due to limitations
• One IKM needed

• The Temporary Interface is displayed using a yellow icon

Temporary interfaces - Limitations
• Source Table, Target and Staging Area should be on the
same technology
• Same physical server, as ODI must do one single select
for the temporary interface
• Technology of this physical server supports derived table
in the from clause
• No data store in temporary interface is used as Journalized
