    1.0 Introduction

    PETRONAS Carigali (Turkmenistan) Sdn Bhd (PC(T)SB) is developing the Garagol Deniz West

    (GDW) Field as part of developing Block 1 oil and natural gas deposits under a Production Sharing

    Contract signed with the Turkmenistan government in 1996. GDW Field is located in Block 1

    approximately at 75 km offshore, from Gas Treatment Plant Onshore Gas Terminal (GTPOGT)

    Kiyanly, Turkmenistan. FWS from GDW field will be evacuated from offshore by means of 14

    Multiphase pipeline.

    2.0 Objective

    The purpose of this document is to -

    Establish the requirement of the Pressure Booster for the FWS Define the basis, assumptions considered for providing inputs to Multiphase pump process

    data sheet.

    3.0 Establish the requirement of Pressure Booster

    As per the GDDP-A production forecast (Attachment-I) provided by PCTSB, the Flowing wellhead

    pressures decline to 150 psia within a year of operation of the platform which is less than the

    required pipeline departing pressures. To continue production from these wells, pressure boosting

    of the wells to the departing pipeline pressures is required.

    In Figure 3.1 below, Flowing wellhead pressures are plotted against the required choke

    downstream pressures (departing pipeline pressure + Topside pressure drop).

    It is seen that within one year of production, some wells will produce at a pressure lower than

    the required choke downstream pressure and hence cannot free flow to the departing pipeline.

    Therefore for all the production years, the producing wells are classified as free flowing High

    pressure (HP) wells, if the Flowing wellhead pressure is higher than the required platform

    departing pressure. If not, the wells are classified as Low pressure (LP) wells. Productions from

    all LP wells require pressure boosting to flow to pipeline.

    4.0 Basis for Process data

    For each year of production, LP wells are identified and corresponding LP well flow rates are added to arrive at the capacity of the Multiphase pump (Refer Attachment-III).

    To size the Multiphase pump for the entire operation envelop of the facility, the Minimum and Maximum flow rates are calculated and provided in the Process data sheet.

    Additional case named as Normal production case is provided to get a pump of reasonable duty by peak shaving of production spike in low pressure gas and oil flows to the Multi phase

    pump.

    The lowest Flowing wellhead pressure minus a system pressure drop of 1.5 bar (choke valve pressure drop + pressure loss due to well testing) is used to specify the pump suction

    pressure.

    The highest required departing pressure (Refer Attachment-IV) for the 14 pipeline diameter plus a system pressure drop of 4.0 bar (future Desander pressure drop of 3 bar + line loss of

    1 bar) is used to determine the pump discharge pressure requirements.

    The feed temperature is specified based on the Flowing wellhead temperature data. 5.0 MPP capacity and Process data

    Table 5.1 below, summarizes the inputs provided to the Multiphase pump process

    datasheet.

    of LP strings respectively for the production years of this facility.

    5 1 This process data is for total fluid flow. Vendor to propose multiple pumps if one pump is not sufficient.6 2 The feed is Full Well Stream (FWS) from oil producing wells along with produced water and associated gas.7 3 The feed will contain 0.046 mole % CO2 and there is no H2S in the feed. However the material to meet NACE & Sour service requirements.8 4 The feed will contain 1 pounds per 1000 barrels of sand & 3.32% to 3.75% by wt of wax. Wax appearance temperature is 8.8 degc to 13 degc.9 5 Supplier is solely responsible for the design of the entire unit complying to the international/client codes and standards,10 and also the performance guarantee to be given by the supplier.11 6 The Feed conditions are stated at the inlet flange of the MPP package. Vendor to account for pressure losses within the package 12 so as to deliver required discharge pressure at the MPP package outlet flange.13 7 Upstream and downstream system design pressure is 46.6 barg at the design temperature of 100 deg C. Hence package design pressure is set at 46.6 barg.14 8 It is envisaged that pump discharge temperature will be high. Vendor to deliver the product at the package battery limit at15 temperature no more than 75 deg C. 16 9 Vendor to propose suitable design temperature for the pump based on expected maximum pump discharge temperature.17 10 There is no cooling water available on the platform. Vendor to use air cooling. The air temperature for the design of the air coolers will be 18 38 deg C max and minus 17 deg C minimum. The maximum ambient temperature is 44 deg C. Cooler shall be provided with 2x100% fan for each bay.19 11 The pump discharge pressure will float on the departing pipeline pressure of the platform which in turn will depend on the prevailing production rates 20 and GOR of the wells. 21 12 Vendor to provide the required pressure relief valves at the pump discharge for overpressure protection. A flare system is provided on the platform and 22 relief valve discharge can be routed to the flare header (By vendor). 23 13 The platform will be producing at two pressure levels. High Pressure (HP) level will free flow to the pipeline. 24 While Low Pressure (LP) level will be fed to the MPP to boost the pressure.25 14 Vendor to consider providing N + 1 Pumps where N is number of required pumps to meet the 100 % duty. One additional pump will be standby.26 A 10% to 100 % turn down on flow rates is required as the production flow rate will depend on the number of flowing wells. 27 Vendor to design the MPPs to meet this turn down. Product recycle may be considered for meeting the turndown conditions.28 Vendor to provide the individual pump turndown ratio incase of 2 x 50 % or 4 x 25% pump model selected.29 15 Vendor to provide 2 x 100 % (one operating and one standby) filter / strainer at the inlet of EACH of the pump.

    30 16 This is an unmanned platform operated remotely from the onshore plant. The pumps will have facility to start remotely.31 17 Vendor to advice on fuel gas consumption rate32 18 Vendor to advice on requirement of other utilities such as instrument air , nitrogen etc and utilities consumption rates .33 19 Wax inhibitor injection is provided at upstream of MPP suction line to avoid wax deposition.34 20 Vendor to suggest the requirement of Automatic blowdown system for the package35 21 Each MPP suction inlet is to be provided with Pressure Transmitter protect the pump against low low pressure. (VTA)36 22. Vendor to consider 20 % surge factor to the actual liquid and gas flowrates to accommodate expected slugs37 23. MPP is designed to cater for Max GOR (5428 scf/bbl) and Max GVF (0.9918)38

    PETRONAS Carigali (Turkmenistan) Sdn Bhd (PC(T)SB) is developing the Garagol Deniz West

    (GDW) Field as part of developing Block 1 oil and natural gas deposits under a Production Sharing

    Contract signed with the Turkmenistan government in 1996. GDW Field is located in Block 1

    approximately at 75 km offshore, from Gas Treatment Plant Onshore Gas Terminal (GTPOGT)

    Kiyanly, Turkmenistan. FWS from GDW field will be evacuated from offshore by means of 14

    Multiphase pipeline.
