Using photographs that I have taken to create a poster design with acolor scheme from the photograph.

    Photoshop

I started with a color scheme, or an idea of a color scheme, I was goingto go with a big split complementary. Then I was looking for a gold background, but found this background with a lot of texture, but it was red,so I needed to switch to Analogous. Then I choose a quote I heard backhome. I needed to create contrast between the text and the red woodbackground, so I added the white text box and made it fade behind him. Then I changed the opacity of the text box to allow the texture of thewall to show through. Then I extended the box behind him on the otherside to even the photo out. Then I placed the swatches under the text.

I first started with the basics, changing some colors in the CSS andadding in my logo. Then I decided to add in a background image, Ifound the image I wanted and took the hex color from my logo andapplied it to the background image in photoshop and gave it the bluetint. I took four pictures that I have taken of the band Boy Meets Worldand edited them together in photoshop. I added that image in before myfirst paragraph. I also added in the top bar that is white with a div andinserted a manipulated version of the fearless logo and added paddingto put it to the right side of the bar. Last I added the slight transparencyto the div that contained the body text.

I then printed off drafts to figure out where to put the back ofthe camera so it will print in the right spot. I then made the cut touts ofthe people in Photoshop and made them PNGs. Opened Indesign andcreated the inside of the camera flap and made the text wrap. I savedthat file and placed it into Illustrator. Then printed it out and cut it.

    IllustartorIndesign

I started with the first side of this buisness card, the white side, andjust used the duck in the pond illistration I had made earlier for thestationary. Then I took the shape of the pond and made it green and putit behind the pond to look like grass behind it. I then added the text andput the contact information in an order that created a sloping line. Onthe other side I wanted words to go with the logo of the rubber duck soI used the name Debbie to make the company be Debbies Ducks. I usedthe front of the duck to make a letter D and continued with the pen toolto make the other letters.

Three different logos for the Fearless Records made with AdobeIllustrator.

    Illustrator

I created an outline of a person doing a one arm stand using the pen

tool. Then I typed out the word Fear in one side and used his arm as theL for less, and typed out the ess. Then I broke up the word Fearless intotwo words to emphasis the meaning and stacked the words to createa sort of building. In which I placed the guy on top of the building ofletters. For my second one I used the same out line again but addeda diff rent fill and got rid of the stroke. Then I just added the letters Fand R for Fearless Records, placing the R under the letter F so the F hadmore value.

A montage made from two images that uses blending, masks andtypography.

    Photoshop

I started with the quote; Music is the only thing that makes sense. That is why there is chaos inside of the out lines of the notes. I started

with the image with the outline. Then I added the second photo. I usedthe magic wand tool and grabbed the white from the first image andfilled it with violet, added a mask and faded the violet portions withthe second photo to give it the violet tint. Then I made the copy of thefirst picture visible, went to select, color range, I chose highlights fromthe drop down menu, then the white part was all that was selected. Iwent to select inverse and put the black out line over top of the rest ofthe image to create the sharp lines. Next I used the magic wand tool toselect individual notes that I copy and pasted into a different layer andadded a mask to them and made them fade into the bottom. Then Iadded my text on last.

I spent a lot of time in the sketching phase. I knew I wanted to use thepile of mittens but I did not know what else to do. I wanted to left alignthe text, Mittens for munchkins but I felt that I should stagger it soit would mimic the mountains of mittens. Then I felt that the text andthe mountains were two separate elements and that they needed to beconnected. So I went back to the picture and took out individual mittensand used them to frame the text and connecting the elements.
