Pablo Picasso
Por : Hernán Galarza .
(Pablo Ruiz Picasso, Malaga, 1881 - Moulins, France, 1973) Spanish artist. Son of the artist Jose Ruiz Blasco, in 1895 he moved with his family to Barcelona, where the young artist was surrounded by a group of artists and writers, among which include the painters Ramon Casas and Santiago Rusiñol, with whom
he used to meet at the bar Els Quatre Gats.
Pablo Picasso was born in Malaga, Spain on October 25, 1881. His father was professor of drawing and his name was Jose Ruiz Blasco, so he took the surname of his mother, Maria
Picasso, to make him famous worldwide.
Painting of Picasso's career places him in a privileged place in the history of contemporary art, both for its technical capacity for
creating, along with Georges Braque, the Cubist style, which will break with artistic tradition that had dominated Western art
since the Renaissance. His life is, however, so long and so full of artistic vagaries his figure may be key to understanding the
history of twentieth century painting.
