The PAcE program at Ross University aims to empower
students in their development of lifelong learning styles by
incorporating an educational model called Team-Based
Learning (TBL).
About the PAcE Program
• The PAcE program provides flexibility for student learning styles during their preclinical years.
• PAcE students choose the study option that best meets their learning style:– Attending lectures – Mediasite (recorded lectures)– Learning objectives– Faculty handouts– Textbooks– Internet resources– library resources

• PAcE students will attend team based learning sessions, designed to enhance team work, problem solving and critical thinking.

Team Based Learning FundamentalsPhase 1 Phase 2 Phase 3
Students learn all material taught in the given module
Individual test (iRAT); 30 minutes•20-25 multiple choice questions•Written by faculty who taught in phase 1•Covers material from phase 1•Graded exercise

• Attendance is required at all scheduled PAcE sessions.
• Students missing more that one PAcE session for an unexcused reason will automatically be dismissed from the program.
• Absences will be excused (by the Student Affair’s Department or the Health Clinic) for medical or emergency situations only.
Attendance Requirements
• Students may opt out of the PAcE program at any time during the semester.
• It is imperative that you notify your PAcE director if you’d like to opt out, so we can maintain an accurate roster.
Opting out of the PAcE Program
Grading• PAcE students are graded by their performance
on examinations in the same way as all other students on campus.
• In addition, PAcE students must maintain a passing grades of 60% on iRAT and 80% on gRAT.– If you do not meet the attendance
requirements and/or maintain the RAT grades mentioned above, then you will not be allowed to continue in the PAcE program in the subsequent semester.
To continue in the PAcE program after first semester, students are required to meet four criteria:
1. Attend scheduled PAcE sessions (one unexcused absence allowed)
2. Maintain a Ross GPA of a least 3.03. Have failed no course blocks at Ross 4. Maintain passing an iRAT (60%) and gRAT
(80%) scores
Promotion to Semester 2 PAcE
• Admittance to PAcE after first semester is possible.
• Criteria for application to the program after first semester are as follows:
1. Must have a GPA of at least 3.0 2. Have failed no course blocks at Ross

Sem 1 PAcE Schedule – May 20111. Intro session May 9th 1-2pm2. Quiz #1: May 17th 10am-noon3. Quiz #2: June 3rd 8-10am4. Case #1: June 6th 1-3pm5. Quiz #3: June 29th 10am-noon6. Case #2: July 1st 9-10am7. Quiz #4: July 22nd 10am-noon8. Quiz #5: Aug 1st 10am-noon9. Case #3: Aug 3rd 3-5pm

presentation.
• Or e-mail Dr. Sheakley by 2pm on Thursday (May 5th) to sign up. No students will be admitted to the program after this registration deadline.
