Functional changes to technology packsA brief description of functional changes to technology packs in this release.
Alcatel-Lucent 5529 SDC 2.8.0.0 Technology PackThe Alcatel-Lucent 5529 Statistics Data Collector (SDC) collects performance datafrom Alcatel-Lucent network devices (such as 7302/7330/7340 access devices). TheSDC receives network inventory from an EMS (in this case, the Alcatel-Lucent 5523AWS/AMS). The SDC has a northbound interface for integration with performancemanagement products, such as Proviso/Tivoli Netcool Performance Manager(wireline).
The SDC supports two types of metric collection – bulk collection and on-demanddetails collection. Bulk collection is the long term, periodic collection ofperformance data. Details collection is for short term, ad-hoc collection of highresolution data. This pack is only concerned with bulk collection. The SDC isconfigured with a “Collection Strategy” that specifies which parameters to collectand how often. The collection strategy must be configured by the customerthrough the SDC’s web interface. The collection strategy needs to specify theparameters used by this technology pack. Alcatel-Lucent 5529 SDC TechnologyPack supports iSAM and iSAMIHUB families and supports ALU 5520 SDC v-R8.2.
Functional changes in this technology pack are as follows:v 36 new Reports are added.v 15 new Properties are added.v 62 new Collection Formulas are added.v Five new SE Collection Groups are added.v Five new NOC Reporting Groups are added.v One NOC Reporting Group is updated.

Minimum required version of Technology Pack InstallerFor Tivoli Netcool Performance Manager installations that are upgraded to TivoliNetcool Performance Manager 1.4, you must use the Technology Pack Installerversion 3.5.0.0 to install technology packs.
To determine the version of the Technology Pack Installer, run the followingcommand:$ java -jar ProvisoPackInstaller.jar -version
Note: The latest Technology Pack Installer (ProvisoPackInstaller.jar file) versionis 3.5.0.0. It works on both Oracle and IBM DB2®.
Note: The Technology Pack Installer (ProvisoPackInstaller.jar file) 3.3.2.0 thatwas released in November 2013 was purely for DB2 installation.
Minimum Java requirementsUse this information to install the technology packs in this release successfully, youmust use the Java Runtime Environment (JRE).

Operating System Minimum software requirements
Solaris 10 IBM 32-bit JRE for Solaris, Java 2 TechnologyEdition, Version 5.0, Service Refresh 6
In Tivoli Netcool/Proviso v4.4.3 or Tivoli Netcool Performance Manager, thecorrect Java version is installed with the Topology Editor in the following defaultlocation:/opt/IBM/proviso/jvm/jre/bin
For more information, see IBM Tivoli Netcool Performance Manager: ConfigurationRecommendations.
The correct Java Runtime Environment (JRE) for common packs is bundled witheach of the Model Maker Manager and Model Maker Generator components. ForModel Maker Extractor, ensure that Java 1.6 is installed on the PC. For moreinformation, see IBM Tivoli Netcool Performance Manager: Pack Installation andConfiguration Guide.
Topology Editor JVM must be started by the correct userIn Tivoli Netcool/Proviso v4.4.3 or Tivoli Netcool Performance Manager, theTopology Editor uses its own Java virtual machine (JVM) to run.
When you install the Topology Editor, this JVM is installed under the TopologyEditor installation directory. However, when the Topology Editor extracts theconfiguration metadata files (XSD files) from a UBA technology pack JAR file, itissues an external command. This external command inherits all the properties ofthe shell from which the Topology Editor was started. Therefore, if the TopologyEditor is started by a user who has the Java path included in the PATHenvironment variable, the external command works correctly. Otherwise, thecommand fails.
Launchpad JVM versionFor 4.3-X and later technology packs, the launchpad requires you to enter the pathto supported Java runtime binaries.
Only IBM JRE 5.0 SR 6 or later is supported. The Tivoli Netcool PerformanceManager Topology Editor provides a supported version of the Java binaries.
Note: If you try to use the Technology Pack Installer to install a technology packon any version of Tivoli Netcool Performance Manager that is running with Java1.4, the installation fails with an error message.
UBA pack XSD file inside a JAR file cannot be loaded into theTopology Editor
In Tivoli Netcool/Proviso v4.4.3 or Tivoli Netcool Performance Manager, youcannot load an XSD file from the pack stand-alone JAR file into the TopologyEditor.
Choose the workaround that is most suitable for your site from the following twooptions:v Manually extract the XSD file from the pack stand-alone JAR file, and then load
it into the Topology Editor. Typically, the pack XSD file is located in the
Chapter 2. Installation and configuration of packs 11
following directory in the stand-alone JAR file:APFiles\pack_name\topologyeditorThe name of the XSD file is <pack_name.xsd>. For example:APFiles\cisco_wan_mgr\topologyeditor\cisco_wan_mgr.xsd
v Install the 4.4.3.0-TIV-PROV-IF0009 Tivoli Netcool Performance Manager coreinterim fix. This patch enables you to load an XSD file from the packstand-alone JAR file into the Topology Editor.
For more information about interim fixes, fix packs, and the location for obtainingthe fixes, see Chapter 6, “Interim fixes and fix packs,” on page 79.
Bundled UBA technology pack XSD filesIn Tivoli Netcool/Proviso v4.4.3 or Tivoli Netcool Performance Manager, if you tryto load a single UBA technology pack from the bundled JAR file, the TopologyEditor erroneously loads all the XSD files contained in the bundled JAR file.
To workaround this problem, follow these tasks:1. After you import all the UBA technology packs from the bundled JAR file,
close the Topology Editor.2. Go to the metadata/appPacks directory under the Topology Editor installation
directory.3. Delete all the XSD files for the UBA technology packs you do not want to be
available for deployment. The names of UBA technology pack XSD files aretypically based on the name of the pack. For example,acme_packet_sbc_hdr.xsd is the name of the XSD file for the Acme PacketSBC/HDR Technology Pack.
4. Open the Topology Editor again.
PROVISO_JAVA environment variable for all bundledtechnology packs
If you try to install a 4.3-Y or later bundled technology pack, the Technology PackInstaller looks for the PROVISO_JAVA environment variable.
The PROVISO_JAVA environment variable should point to the directory thatcontains the approved IBM version of JRE 5.0. For example:
PROVISO_JAVA==/opt/IBM/proviso/jvm/jre/bin
If the PROVISO_JAVA environment variable is not set, the Technology PackInstaller attempts to use the default system Java and might cause an issue wheninstalling bundled packs. You receive an error message in the installer log file thatappears as below:INFO [ToolKitData.getJavaPath] No JRE specified. To specify a JRE,use environment variable "PROVISO_JAVA"
12 IBM Tivoli Netcool Performance Manager: Pack Release Notes
Downloading a technology pack JAR file in the backgroundIn Tivoli Netcool/Proviso v4.4.3 or Tivoli Netcool Performance Manager, if youdownload a pack JAR file in the background while the Topology Editor window isopen, this JAR file is not displayed in the list of available packs.
Procedure
To correct this issue close and reopen the Topology Editor window to refresh thelist of available packs.
Location of bulk input filesThe UBA expects that the bulk input files associated with a specific device aregenerated on the server on which the device operates.
The best practice for specifying the locations of these bulk input files is as follows:v Specify a directory on the server to store the in-process bulk input files.
The in-process bulk input files refer to files that are still open for writing by thedevice or script generating them. Problems can occur when the UBA attempts todownload in-process bulk input files. It is recommended that the device or scriptcreate a directory. For example, /opt/uba/inprocessbulkinputfiles in which tostore the in-process bulk input files.
v Specify a directory on the server to store the completed bulk input files. The completed bulk input files refer to files that are closed for writing by thedevice or script generating them. These bulk input files are the files that theUBA must download and process. In Tivoli Netcool/Proviso v4.4.3 or TivoliNetcool Performance Manager, you specify the directory for the completed bulkinput files by using the Topology Editor to modify the following pack-specificUBA parameters:– INPUT_USE_SECURE_FTP
– INPUT_FTP_HOST
– INPUT_FTP_USERNAME
– INPUT_FTP_PASSWORD
– INPUT_DIRECTORY
This is the parameter where you specify the directory (for example,/opt/uba/completedbulkinputfiles) that contains the completed bulk inputfiles. The script that generates the bulk input files can move the completedfiles automatically through a file system hard link to the directory specified inINPUT_DIRECTORY.
Install the DataView Navigator Reporter Set Wizard templatesBefore using the DataView Reporter Set Wizard, you must install the DataViewNavigator Reporter Set Wizard templates, which are provided in the Tivoli NetcoolPerformance Manager technology pack distribution.
If these templates are not installed, the wizard screen is blank. The requiredtemplates are an option in the Pack Bundle Prerequisites item on the FeatureSelection screen. The option is called DV Navigator Reporter Set Wizard Pack, which is delivered as part of the Tivoli Netcool Performance Manager technologypack bundle.
For information about how to install the DV Navigator Reporter Set Wizard Pack, see the IBM Tivoli Netcool Performance Manager: Installation Guide.

DataChannel parameter keys are converted to uppercaseBeginning with Tivoli Netcool/Proviso v4.4.3, DataChannel parameters are locatedin the database. When the parameters are placed into the database, all of theDataChannel keys, or the portion of the parameter definition that appears to theleft of the equals sign (for example, DC_KEY=value), are converted to uppercase.
This issue can affect customers who are upgrading their environment to TivoliNetcool/Proviso v4.4.3 or Tivoli Netcool Performance Manager.
As most DataChannel keys are already in uppercase, this issue is unlikely to affectyour environment. If you have any lowercase or mixed-case DataChannel keys, change these keys to all-uppercase before upgrading your environment, to ensurethat your Tivoli Netcool Performance Manager components work properly.
Upgrading from Alcatel-Lucent 5620 SAM 4.3-Y Technology PackWhen you want to upgrade Alcatel-Lucent 5620 SAM Technology pack to a laterversion, you must manually delete the %(samPortName rule from the Rule Editor ifthis rule exists.

DataChannel parameter keys are converted to uppercaseBeginning with Tivoli Netcool/Proviso v4.4.3, DataChannel parameters are locatedin the database. When the parameters are placed into the database, all of theDataChannel keys, or the portion of the parameter definition that appears to theleft of the equals sign (for example, DC_KEY=<value>), are converted to uppercase.
This issue can affect customers who are upgrading their environment to TivoliNetcool/Proviso v4.4.3 or Tivoli Netcool Performance Manager.
As most DataChannel keys are already in uppercase, this issue is unlikely to affectyour environment. If you have any lowercase or mixed-case DataChannel keys, change these keys to all-uppercase before upgrading your environment, to verifythat your Tivoli Netcool Performance Manager components work properly.

DataView Navigator usage recommendation to avoid possibleSilverStream server crash
If you use DVNavigator to create or modify reporters and chart styles, you mustsave your work regularly and save a few reporters and chart styles at a time
Saving your work in this manner avoids a potential Oracle JDBC issue that cancause the SilverStream server to crash. If a crash occurs, the server restarts. In thissituation, not all of your work before the crash might be saved. But you may havethe ability to save this work after the server is recovered.
IP SLA Monitoring for Cisco IPSLA Technology PackWhen the collector is installed and started by the installer, some key tables aremissing from the database. These tables contain configuration data that enables IPSLA monitoring to work on the Cisco IPSLA Technology Pack. After you completethe installation, if IP SLA operations are required, bounce the collectors once toreload the configuration.
After the DataView component is installed and started for the first time in TivoliNetcool Performance Manager 1.3.1, you must stop and start all of the SNMPDataLoad component so that they can pick up the new probe type definition fromthe database. Failure to find the new probe type definitions, might cause errors inthe IP SLA probe management pages. Probe creations are systematically rejectedwith invalid type errors.
UBA or associated CME goes offlineIn cases where data is delayed somewhere in the system (that is, one of the UBACollectors or its associated CME goes offline for some period), running the samereport in DataView multiple times might show different contents as the delayeddata starts to flow through the Hourly Database Loaders (LDRs).
Baseline thresholdsBaseline thresholds are included in a number of technology packs. You must usethe DataMart Resource Editor to enable them and configure the thresholdparameters.
For instructions, see the IBM Tivoli Netcool Performance Manager DataMart OperationGuide.
In addition, to enable the use of thresholds in reports, you must use the DataViewNavigator to configure the report threshold display parameters. For instructions, see the IBM Tivoli Netcool Performance Manager: DataView User and AdministrationGuide.
Dashes are displayed in some reportsTables in some reports, such as the table that shows the SNMP collector errors inthe Self-Monitoring Technology Pack, might show dashes (- -) instead of a zero (0)when no errors are encountered. If the error countered is greater than zero, thecounters display as expected.
Chapter 4. Known issues and workarounds 33
Divide by zero warning messages in logs can be ignoredLog files for several technology packs might contain divide by zero warnings, which can be ignored
DataView report display anomaliesThe following known issues with DataView can affect the display of reports:v Gaps might appear in bar charts for any metric or subelement type.v Detail charts related to disk space and partitions might appear squeezed when
displaying more than eight objects (for example, servers with more than eightpartitions or disks).
v The legends of some GST reports either do not display correctly or are missing.

Improper description for two parameters in Topology Editor inTivoli Netcool Performance Manager 1.3.1
There are two parameter that do not have proper description in the TopologyEditor under UBA collector component in Tivoli Netcool Performance Manager1.3.1. The two parameters are:v OUTPUT_PERIOD
v OUTPUT_SORT_BUFFER
The description for these parameters appears as OUTPUT_PERIOD_DESCR andOUTPUT_SORT_BUFFER_DESCR respectively.
Specific technology pack issuesIssues that apply to specific technology packs.
Accedian Metro Ethernet Technology PackThe devices do not correctly support RFC1213, so the accedian_element formulamust be added to the inventory_elements.txt - if it does not exist.
Limitations on certain KPIsAccedian Metro Ethernet Technology Pack used approximate calculation to derivecertain KPI values as these KPIs are not provided directly from the vendor MIB.
The KPIs and their calculations are as follows:v AP~Specific~SNMP~Metro Ethernet~PAA~Round-Trip Lost Packets (percent).
There is no MIB return on the round-trip measurement for packet loss inACD-PAA-MIB. Thus an approximation is given where Near-end and Far-endmeasurements are added as shown below:(Near-end Packet Loss + Far-end Packet Loss) * 100 =Round-Trip Lost Packets (percent)
Consequently, you must understand the exception case of large values of packetloss. For instance Far-end 60% + Near-end 60% results in 120% round trip loss.
v Egress Delay VarianceThe approximation to calculate this metric is by taking the average of the Delay
Chapter 4. Known issues and workarounds 35
Variation of Two-way test, doubling it, and then subtracting the Ingress DelayVariation. The following is the approximate calculation:(2 * Two-way Delay Variation) – Ingress Delay Variation = Egress Delay Variation
v Egress One Way Delay AverageThe approximate calculation for this metric is the difference between Round TripDelay and One Way Delay Average (ingress). These two values are available inthe MIB. The following is the approximate calculation:Round Trip Delay – Ingress One Way Delay Average = Egress One Way Delay Average
ADVA Optical Metro Ethernet Technology Pack
The Egress word is not consistentWhen you click the Info link while viewing reports in the ADVA Optical MetroEthernet Technology Pack from the Tivoli Integrated Portal, the Egress wordappears inconsistently as egress or Egress.

SAM_INVENTORY.DELETEONACQUIRE must not be set to trueIn the Alcatel-Lucent 5670 RAM 2.3.0.0 technology pack, if more than one UBAcollectors are defined, the SAM_INVENTORY.DELETEONACQUIRE parameter must not beset to true because the samInventory.csv file, which is generated, is shared amongall the UBAs.
Data does not flow if the CME Collector is not numbered 1 - 498After you install the Alcatel-Lucent 5670 RAM technology pack on the IBM TivoliNetcool Performance Manager 1.3.1, you add the CME Collector in the TopologyEditor.
If you add the CME Collector that is not numbered 1 - 498, following problemsoccur:v Data does not flow through the technology pack.v SLE folder that is created at the following path is named incorrectly:
/opt/proviso/datachannel/. For example, if you number the CME collector as500, the folder is named incorrectly as SLE.500 instead of SLE.1500.
v Flow Control Asserted error occurs for UBA and FTE.
To avoid these problems, the CME Collectors must be numbered 1 - 498.
Note: In the ramAdapor README file, the example for the UBA_LIST default valuealso contains UBA.1.500, UBA.1.600. However, you must ensure that the CMECollectors are numbered 1 - 498.
Alcatel-Lucent 5620 SAM Technology PackThese issues apply to the Alcatel-Lucent 5620 SAM Technology Pack.
Known issues in the Alcatel-Lucent 5620 SAM 2.14.0.0Technology PackThis is a known issue that is found in Alcatel-Lucent 5620 SAM 2.14.0.0Technology Pack.

SiteId property is not available for nat.IsaMda and nat.IsaMember classes:
In an event when some properties are not available in the inventory class, thedeveloper opts to perform a lookup mechanism in parent classes or other classes, which have similar property combination.
However, in Alcatel-Lucent 5620 SAM Technology Pack, it is not possible and theonly choice is to use the siteName property as the key. It must be noted thatfiltering capabilities for these two classes need to use the siteName property.Theoretically, siteName is also tied to a particular siteId and the difference is inthe naming convention where siteId usually is an IP address and siteName is adefined string.
Old temperature metrics from equipment.HwEnvironment are no longersupported in Temperature report:
The Alcatel-Lucent 5620 SAM Technology Pack 2.13.0.0 and earlier versions reporttemperature-related metrics from the equipment.HwEnvironment inventory class.
In a typical scenario, the metrics must be collected from metric classes and not theinventory classes. The technology pack processes the inventory as metrics.Alcatel-Lucent SAM Release 10.0 R1 introduced equipment.HardwareTemperaturemetric class to collect temperature data. This way, the temperature readings are aperformance stats counter collection much like other SAM metrics.
The two classes (equipment.HwEnvironment and equipment.HardwareTemperature)represent temperature information for the same objects and so there is no need tomaintain the older equipment.HwEnvironment class. Hence, the temperaturereadings from old equipment.HwEnvironment class are no longer reported inTemperature report sets. The metrics are now mapped to temperature readingsfrom equipment.HardwareTemperature. It must be noted that the OSS showstemperature value in Celsius and thus, the old value in Fahrenheit is removedfrom the report. For user who still needs to refer to equipment.HwEnvironmenttemperature data, the following data is available as inventory data and exists indatabase:v temperatureInFahrenheit
v temperature
v temperatureThreshold
v temperatureThresholdCrossed
v temperatureThresholdInFahrenheit

SiteName property is not available for dhcp.Subnet anddhcp.Dhcp6AddressPrefix classes:
In typical inventory classes of Alcatel-Lucent 5620 SAM Technology Pack, there arekey properties that technology pack development uses to create or map resourcesrelated to certain classes.
For instance, properties such as siteId, siteName, nodeId, and nodeName are theones that are often used in development. For the dhcp.Subnet anddhcp.Dhcp6AddressPrefix classes, the nodeName or siteName property is notavailable; however, the nodeId property is available.
A lookup method is implemented to extract the siteName from rtr.VirtualRouter.This siteName is used as a dynamic tree in NOC Reporting. However, this lookupmethod happens after the SAMIF processing is completed. nodeId is the defaultfilter for these two classes though filtering can be done on other properties as well.Theoretically, siteName or nodeName is also tied to a particular siteId or nodeId.The difference is in the naming convention where Id usually is an IP address andName is a defined string.
Data format of SessionUsageHi KPI in Session Usage report:
It must be noted that the SessionUsageHi KPI is converted from truth value tointeger format.
This direction is taken because string cannot be processed as metrics in TivoliNetcool Performance Manager. The data format is as follows:v Truth is converted to value 1.v False is converted to value 2.

Multi-Service Site reports do not show any metric value for AggregationScheduler resources:
Symptoms
When you install Alcatel 5620 SAM 2.10.0.0 Technology Pack on Alcatel-Lucent5620 SAM Server version 9 and you set the SAM_SERVER_VERSION andSAM_SERVER_RELEASE_VERSION to 9 and 1, Multi-Service Site reports do not showany metric value from CompleteServiceIngressPacketOctets andCompleteServiceEgressPacketOctets metric classes for Aggregation Schedulerresources.
Workaround
To work around this issue, look for the configuration item SAM_SERVER_VERSION andSAM_SERVER_RELEASE_VERSION for all components. Change the configuration item ofSAM_SERVER_VERSION to 9 and SAM_SERVER_RELEASE_VERSION to 7. If customers areusing Alcatel-Lucent 5620 SAM Server version 8, there is no workaround neededfor this issue.
samOamTestDestination property for Tunnel Ping and LSP Ping resources doesnot appear correctly:
The samOamTestDestination destination site property does not appear correctly onthe Tunnel Ping and LSP Ping resources in OAM inventory. Currently, TivoliNetcool Performance Manager populates the source site property value to thedestination site property value as the corresponding SAM-O APIs do not providedestination site property. This is not an incorrect behavior.

Chapter 4. Known issues and workarounds 43
SAM server generates the XML file that contains more than one datapoint:SymptomsIn the Alcatel-Lucent 5620 SAM LogToFile 2.2.0.0 technology pack, the SAM servergenerates the XML file that contains more than one datapoint for the sameresource. For example, at the SAM server, if you configure the OAM classes for 5minutes, the OAM XML file is generated after every 5 minutes. However, this XMLfile contains more than one datapoint for the same resource. As a result, the CSVfile that is received by the UBA also contains more than one datapoint. Only thefirst datapoint is processed properly while the remaining two datapoints areignored.
The description property is not updated in the Resource Editor:SymptomsIn the Alcatel-Lucent 5620 SAM LogToFile 2.2.0.0 Technology Pack, on the SAMserver, you modify the Description property for SAP, SAP Queue, and NetworkQueue. The JMS update event is triggered, and the modifications are reflected inthe CSV files that are produced by DataStage. However, these modifications in theDescription property are not reflected in the Resource Editor after the UBAprocesses the CSV files.
SQL error occurs during the Fulldump process:SymptomsAfter you install the Alcatel-Lucent 5620 SAM LogToFile 2.2.0.0 Technology Packfor the first time, you configure multiple UBA collectors. For example, you setcollectors that are numbered 100 and 102 for the Performance metrics, andcollectors that are numbered 101 and 103 for the Accounting metrics. When boththe Performance or Accounting collectors process the Fulldump file at the sametime, SQL error occurs.
Resolving the problemTo avoid this problem, you must not start more than one Performance orAccounting collector during the resource provisioning. You must start onePerformance and one Accounting collector, and wait until the correspondingFulldump files are processed. You can then start the remaining Performance andAccounting collectors.
The subelement time changes on several unexpected occasions:
In the Resource Editor, the subelement date must change when:v A subelement is added, updated, or deleted.v JMS event is triggered.
However, in the Alcatel-Lucent 5620 SAM LogToFile Technology Pack, thesubelement date also changes when:v A full dump file is processed by the UBA even if a subelement is not inserted,
updated, or deleted.v Performance or Accounting CSV file is created by DataStage.v Alcatel-Lucent 5620 SAM is upgraded to Alcatel-Lucent 5620 SAM LogToFile.
Subelement state is not updated to OFF when you change the SAP Ingress orEgress Policy:SymptomsWhen you change the Ingress and Egress Policy for the existing SAPs, the newSAP Queues associated with the new Policy are created correctly in Resource
44 IBM Tivoli Netcool Performance Manager: Pack Release Notes
Editor with State = ON. However, the old SAP Queues associated with the oldPolicy remain as state = ON, and they are not updated to state = OFF.
Synchronize the time on the IBM InfoSphere Information server and the SAMserver:SymptomsTypically, there is a time difference on the IBM InfoSphere Information server andthe SAM server. This may result in incorrect timestamps on the generated reports.
CausesTime at the IBM InfoSphere Information server and the SAM server is notsynchronized.
Resolving the problemTo resolve this issue, set the SAM server time to be same as the IBM InfoSphereInformation server even if both servers are at different time zones. To verifywhether both servers are synchronized, run the date +%s command, and make surethat the value that is returned for both servers is same.
Data is not displayed properly in the Volume and Utilization report:SymptomsYou browse to the following path on the Tivoli Integrated Portal to run the Volumeand Utilization report: NOC Reporting > Alcatel-Lucent 5620 SAM > SAMRouter Health > Link Aggregation Groups (LAG Interfaces) > Volume &Utilization Group Summary. The report is displayed on the right. In the InboundUtilization and Outbound Utilization fields, --, 0, and No Data Available, aredisplayed in the following tables:v Group Summary
v Resource Summary
v Detail Chart
Partitioning must be done at the element level:SymptomsDataStage collector mapping configuration provides fine level of partitioning at thesubelement level. However, some subelements must be configured to the samecollector. Because this rule is not verified by the DataStage job, mistakes might beintroduced in the relation lookup configuration file.
Resolving the problemTo avoid this problem, you must create the partition at the element level only. Youmust configure all family names for an element to a single set of collectors.
The CSV file name changes when you map another class that does notcorrespond to its collector:SymptomsOn DataStage, the CSV file in the out directory is not correctly named. Forexample, the provisoAccounting_2013.02.18-08.05.00_101.csv file is incorrectlynamed as provisoPerformance_2013.02.18-08.05.00_101.csv.
CausesThis problem occurs when you map one more class that does not correspond to itscollector in the collector_mapping.csv file. For example, in thecollector_lookup.csv file, you set the 101 collector as Accounting. However, in thecollector_mapping.csv file, instead of the Accounting class, you map one or morePerformance classes to the 101 collector. As a result, the Accounting 101 collectorgets mixed with the Performance classes, and you find the
Chapter 4. Known issues and workarounds 45
provisoPerformance_2013.02.18-08.05.00_101.csv file instead ofprovisoAccounting_2013.02.18-08.05.00_101.csv file in the out directory.
The OAM data exists at the SAM server but is not transferred to DataStage:SymptomsThe OAM data exists at the SAM server in the xml_ouput directory. However, thisdata is not transferred to DataStage at DS/done.
Diagnosing the problemTo identify the cause of the problem, follow these steps:1. Run this command to verify if the registerSasLogToFile requests are sent to
the SAM server:$ grep -q "^registerSasLogToFile" ./data/responsexmls.csv && echo "yes, there is a response forthe request!"
2. Run this command to identify if an exception has occurred:$ grep "^registerSasLogToFile" ./data/responsexmls.csv | grep -i "exception"$# None - all ok
3. Check if the logFileAvailable message is received from the SAM JMS for thesesasLogToFile:$ grep "/oam/" ./logs/sam-jms-daemon.log$# None - No message is received.
Note: /oam/ is the parent directory for these classes.4. Check if there is a problem with the register sasLogToFile:
$ grep "^registerSasLogToFile" ./data/responsexmls.csv | perl -e’while (<>){m/<fullClassName >(.*)<\/fullClassName>/; print $1."\n"}’ |sort | uniq ethernetoam.CfmLoopbackResultethernetoam.CfmTwoWayDelayTestResulticmp.IcmpPingResultmpls.LspPingResultsvt.TunnelPingResultsvt.VccvPingResult
$ grep "^registerSasLogToFile" ./data/responsexmls.csv | wc -l222# Unexpected logs of registerSasLogToFile - you must expect up to 6 lines, which means 6 classes. You notice 222 lines that is not correct.
Note: You can view logs after you run the command as explained in Step 1.5. Check the number of times SasLogToFile is unregistered and registered:
$ grep registerSasLog ./data/responsexmls.csv | cut -d, -f1
6. Check times when the SasLogToFile is unregistered and registered:$ grep deregisterSasLogToFile ./data/responsexmls.csv | perl -e’while (<>){m/responseTime>(.*)<\/responseTime>/; print $1."\n"}'
You can see the following output:

Network System Dashboard Technology PackThe inventory subelements text file for the Network System Dashboard TechnologyPack is called cisco_integration_inventory_subelements.txt.
Nortel CS2000 Technology PackThese issues apply to the Nortel CS2000 Technology Pack.
Note: Nortel CS2000 Technology Pack is renamed to GenBand C20 Converged IPSoftswitch Technology Pack starting from 1.3-F release.
These issues apply to GenBand C20 Converged IP Softswitch 2.6.0.0 TechnologyPack also.
Report fields display dashes in dataMany report fields display dashes in data in the following scenarios:v Data is not correlated between the IPDR and AMA.v If the AMAONLY flag is set to TRUE because you do not expect to receive IPDR data.
Note: In this case, the Zone reports under the Service Usage tree and the Pathreports are empty if there is no IPDR data (or if IPDR data exists, but the adaptoris not able to correlate it with the AMA data).
CSV export data for AMA records report contains different dataThe CSV export data for the AMA Records, IPDR (IP Data Records) report containsdata that is different from the report.
Data loss related to proper execution of cs2kcdr.pl scriptData loss - related to the proper execution of the cs2kcdr.pl script - occurs underthe following conditions:v The cs2kcdr.pl script no longer executes due to some error (for example, a full
file system).v Rebooting the server on which the cs2kcdr.pl script executes.v Manually restarting the cs2kcdr.pl script.
Specifically, any records, which might span multiple files that are held in memoryawaiting correlation might be lost.
Scaling of the cs2kcdr.pl processorScaling of the cs2kcdr.pl processor is dependent on the memory and processor ofthe system it runs on, as it is a single, undistributed process.
Chapter 4. Known issues and workarounds 53
Starting up multiple UBAsDo not start multiple UBAs at the same time. Start them by using a staggeredapproach, as described in the configuration appendix of the IBM Tivoli NetcoolPerformance Manager Nortel CS2000 Technology Pack User Guide.
Two instances of CPRAdaptor.js required on TivoliNetcool/Proviso v4.4.3 or Tivoli Netcool Performance ManagerWhen the Nortel CS2000 Technology Pack is installed on Tivoli Netcool/Provisov4.4.3 or Tivoli Netcool Performance Manager, you must create two instances ofthe CPRAdaptor.js file - one instance for each input file stream, SST and PVG, toprevent filtering between PVG and SST. You must add an additional UBA collector.
Export CSV links missing from SS-T Call Analysis - DC reportIn the SS-T Call Analysis - DC report, Export CSV links are missing from thefollowing metrics:v Mean Hold Time (MHT)v Mean Talk Time (MTT)v Invite Post Dial Delay
No Swap Utilization table in the reports for Nortel SSTSwap Utilization appears as a Nortel SST system metric - but without a table. However, there is no Swap Utilization in the reports for Nortel SST.
As a workaround, open the reporter and remove the ResSummaryTable title forthat second table in the reporter.
System Service Monitors Technology PackThe inventory of virtualized interface on Solaris global zone shows these warningmessages in the TraceInventory.log, but virtualized interfaces are not discovered.Warning: Identical invariant detected for invariant :e1000g0(<server name>,If<2> and <server name>,If<7>).Warning: Identical invariant detected for invariant :e1000g0(<server name>,If<3> and <server name>,If<7>).Warning: Identical invariant detected for invariant :e1000g0(<server name>,If<4> and <server name>,If<7>).Warning: Identical invariant detected for invariant :e1000g0(<server name>,If<5> and <server name>,If<7>).Warning: Identical invariant detected for invariant :e1000g0(<server name>,If<6> and <server name>,If<7>).no dup SE found in DB (on 5 )
As a workaround, modify the Alias Instance and Label Inventory\AP\BSM\Network\Interface discovery formula to the following:Def UseQuotedStrings No;Dim I1 AS Integer Default * NAME InterfaceIndex;#;V99 = OIDINST(srIfIPAddr.%I1);V90 = OIDINST((ifSpeed.%V99 != 0) && (ifSpeed.%V99 != 4294967295));#;V01 = OIDVAL(agentIdName.0, once);V02 = OIDVAL(agentIdPlatformDescription.0, once);V03 = OIDVAL(agentLocationDescr.0, once);#;V11 = OIDVAL(ifDescr.%V90);V12 = OIDVAL(ifType.%V90 format clean);#;%V12 index "If<%V90>||\"If:
