colour logoSCA is made up of two basic colours: red and black (specified below). Gradient effects are to create the impression of three dimensions. The logo also uses a drop shadow to help it jump off background colours. There are also simple one and two colour versions of the logo for instances outside of standard offset printing, for example emboss and embroidery.

There are no positive or reverse versions of both the colour logo or the mono logo. Whatever the background ( image, flat colour, white or black ) the same version of the logo is used.

straplineThe strapline has been designed to sit with the logo for all packaging applications. The only time the logo can appear without the strapline is when the logo is less than 25mm wide.

There is only one approved version. Do not under any circumstance place the strapline above, to the left or to the right of the logo.

principlesThe basic principle that underpins the design of the SCA packaging is the ratio between the coloured background and the black gradient.

For the front and side facings of a pack or box the ratio should be one quarter coloured background and three quarters black.

The size of the coloured background is to remain constant when wrapping around a double-sided pack or box. The same applies for the back facing of a pack or box the ratio should be one quarter coloured background and three quarters black.

To maintain the strength of the branding, the SCA logo should occupy at least 10% of the visible area.

There is a house style for typesetting product descriptions and listing product features.

Firstly the name of the actual product, is to be highlighted in white. For example in “Heavy Duty Air Compressor” the words “Air Compressor” would be highlighted in white. The remainder of the description “Heavy Duty” appears in a 30% tint of black.

A keyline always under-scores the product description when bullet points are used. The keyline should appear in a 30% tint of black.

Product features are simply listed using a 30% black bullet point and can appear in a line or a column.

Example 1:

This example shows the correct position of a coloured background on the front of all landscape packaging.

Packaging can vary in size and shape, which will determine the height and width of boxes, blister packs, labels, etc. This will effect the colour and black background ratios.

When this happens extend or open the picture box to show more of the top area. Do not stretch image as per example 2.

Example 2:

This example shows the incorrect image position of the colour background.

The area indicated by the red circle, should not be visible on the front or back of any packaging. The stretching of the image, horizontally or vertically is incorrect.

There are two types of gradients, radial or linear (see below).

Radial gradientWhen dark products appear on the black base, a radial gradient is used (see Examples 1 and 2). This gradient radiates from the centre point behind the product with 100% Black and runs toward 50% Black.

Glow effectA glow effect is to be applied when the product image is darker, shown in Example 1. When the product image is lighter a glow effect is not necessary, shown in Example 2.

Linear gradientThe linear gradient (Example 3) is a running right to left (dark left, lighter right). The base is 100% Black and runs toward 50% Black.

RecyclableLogos

The Super Cheap Auto Group is part of the Australian Packaging Covenant and has committed to the principles of sustainable packaging and providing adequate information to our customers to be able to identify recyclable packaging.

All artwork must display the applicable logo and information regarding recycling capabilities; and must meet the guidelines for packaging as per our Packaging, Barcoding and Labelling Specifications available on our website.

The Recyclable logo should never appear less than 15mm wide. The qualifying statement should appear in a reasonable size in order to be clearly visible by all our customers.

The logo and information should be located near the barcode information and multiple logos should be located next to each other in all circumstances.

WARRANTYThis product is guaranteed against defects for a period of 24 months from date of purchase. This warranty is provided by Super Cheap Auto Pty Ltd ACN 085 395 124 (Supercheap Auto) of 751 Gympie Rd Lawnton QLD 4501 Ph (07) 3482 7500. Supercheap Auto will offer a repair, replacement product or store credit if the product is assessed as being defective during the warranty period. To claim under this warranty, take this product to the Front Service Desk of your nearest Supercheap Auto store. Additional information may be requested of you to process your claim. Faults or defects caused by product modification, misuse and abuse, normal wear and tear or failure to follow user instructions are not covered under this warranty. You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure and for compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage.
