Thank You:
Dear New Hope Family:
I was raised an only child which has
always made family a little on the
sparse side. But now, as a Member of
the New Hope Family, I am blessed
with lots and lots of brothers and
sisters in Christ. Lynn and I want to
say a great big "THANK YOU" to all

to Neil for going over to the hospital

Cooks Needed for New Hope Care Team Our New Hope Care Team contacts people who are just getting home from the hospital
due to surgery or sickness or a new baby and offers to provide them with a home
cooked meal to help in their recovery process. This is a ministry of our church to
support the families in their time of need and to show them that our church family cares
for them and loves them.
We have a group of dedicated ladies that prepare these meals and deliver them but as
our church grows and as a lot of the members get older, we have a lot of need for this
ministry. Our ladies are getting worn down and tired and we need assistance.
Please consider signing up to help with this wonderful outreach ministry. If you do agree to help you would be contacted by Paulette Wood, our chair for meals, and she would visit
with you about the need and the location of the person and determine if you might be able to help with a
meal. Often two people will work together on a meal.
Please consider helping your church with this ministry. And if you find it in your heart to serve in this
capacity please call Clarice Rubek at 515-965-8897. We do need you and the wonderful ministry that you can
provide. I ask you to prayerfully think about this opportunity and I thank you in advance.
Sincerely ,
Clarice Rubek

If you would like to contribute to our ministry by
making food donations, cooking or serving, please sign
up in the Fellowship Hall.
Cooks meet at the church between 3:00-3:30pm.
Servers transport the food to the Central Iowa Shelter &
Services at 5:30pm and return by 8:00pm.
When individuals drop off their non perishables, we
ask that they clearly label them HOL and clearly
indicate who it is from and leave them on the kitchen
counter.
Frozen items may be placed in the new industrial
freezer, on the upper two left shelves. If possible,
please indicate on the sign up sheet where you placed
your item(s) (for example, “in pantry”, or “in the
refrig.”).
THANK YOU!!!
In the kitchen supply
room there are 4 new
frying pans.
2-12" and 2-10" Infinite Circulon (non stick) frying
pans. Posted above the frying pans are cooking and
cleaning directions. These are very good frying pans.
Please place paper towels between the pans when storing
the pans.
Also, due to our garbage disposal in the old kitchen
getting plugged up and Rotor Rooter needing to clean out
the pipes, I have posted signs by the disposal switches in
the old kitchen. These directions tell what NOT to place
in the garbage disposal. It is best if we use the garbage
disposals sparingly. The waste from the disposal goes
into the septic tank.
Thank you,
The Kitchen Keepers

Electronic Giving You may give to New Hope through electron-
ic giving.
A step-by-step process is available on our web-site,
www.newhopedsm.org, by clicking the “Donate” button and
following the instructions. Or there is sheet on electronic giving
available at the sign-up table in the Fellowship Hall.
Stewardship Update During the first week of our Fall Campaign, 88 pledge sheets were turned in for the 2012 budget year. These
pledges amounted to a total of $239,816 which breaks down to $173,390 to the general
fund, $16,342 to the mission fund, and $50,084 to the mortgage. If you have not yet had
the chance to complete your pledge sheet, please do so. You may turn it in to the church
office or in the offering plate.
The Stewardship & Finance Committee sincerely thanks everyone in their commitment to
being a part of New Hope’s continued growth in ministries for Jesus Christ. We feel God is doing great things
through our New Hope UMC family.
