Introduction to Fletchers Bakeries
Lawson M3 Solution:
Flagship Lawson customer for Quickstep
Lawson M3 version 7.1 with Smart Client interface
Moved from concept to implementation in 7 months
Went Live with M3 in 2008
Project Management supplied by Estrix (UK) Ltd
Management Information Solution:
Agreed to pilot Lawson Business Intelligence (LBI) Quickstep solution using Business Performance Warehouse (BPW)
Made use of predefined industry specific reporting in conjunction with the Quickstep solution
Post implementation it became clear to us that the BPW/LBI solution was not the right product for Fletchers’ MI requirements

Our Challenge
Overall management information was weak
Three key areas were identified as a start point:
– Sales Reporting
– Purchase Price Variance Reporting
– Material Variance Reporting
Short term objectives:
– Provision of a quick low-cost alternative to LBI
– Solution to the reporting shortfalls in the three key areas
Medium term objectives:
– Replacement of BPW by reporting directly against M3 database
– Replacement of LBI through provision of flexible user-friendly interface
– Provision of a scaleable stable application
