However, there are times in life when there really isn’t anything you can say. As most of you would be aware, this will be my last Newsletter for Gunther Village. For reasons associated with family, I have made the decision to move back to NSW where all my family are based. The decision to do so was not an easy one, as I have thoroughly enjoyed my time here at Gunther. I have met some wonderful people who have taught me a lot. These people include but are not limited to; staff, residents, families and the Board of Governance. It goes without saying it is not always the easiest job in the world being the Manager. However, that job is made a lot easier when you have a great team behind you. With the ongoing support of everyone involved in the home, I am very confident that all the positive things we have achieved over the past four years will continue under the leadership of a new Manager. As I have been preparing to hand over the reigns I have done quite a bit of reflection. Could I have done this better? Should I have done that differently? In answer to my own questions, maybe? However, if I have made a positive difference in any way at all, then I know the journey has been worth travelling. Finally, I would like to say to each and everyone of you who have contributed in some way to the wonderful facility we call Gunther Village, thankyou! I will think of you all often with fond memories and wish you all the best for the future. Have you ever thought how nice it would be to have someone come in

for a few hours and do some cleaning, clean some windows,

vaccum through the house & weed the garden?

Then maybe the

‘Gunther Village Cleaning & Support Services’can assist?

We now have a group of skilled staff who are available to help with the chores in your home.

All our staff are covered by our public liability, workers compensation insurances and have all

had Federal Police Checks completed.

We believe this is important in answering the questions that most of us have when bringingsomeone into our home.

How do we know we can trust the person coming into my home?

What if they injure themselves while they are in my home?

How much will this cost?

The hourly rate for the service is $27.50 p/h (GST Inclusive)

This rate is certainly very comparable to what you would pay someone on a private basis,

especially given the fact that under this arrangement you do not have to worry of insurance, should there be a mishap.

To ensure viability of the business, there is a 2hr minimum charge ($55.00)

But just think what you could have done in 2 hours!

For more information, we encourage you to contact us at

Gunther Village on 4161 3699

From the Residents and Staff at Gunther Village

Caramello Egg Brownies

Ingredients:¾ cup butter1 ¼ cup sugar2 tspn vanilla3 eggs¾ cups self raising flour½ cup cocoa powderPinch of salt (optional)12 Cadbury Caramello eggs

Method:Preheat oven to 180°C

Lightly grease a slice tin (33 x 23 cm) with butter and line it with baking paper.

Melt the butter on the stove or in the microwave.

Using a mixer, beat the eggs and sugar together, add vanilla, flour, cocoa, salt (optional) and themelted butter next. Mix this together and gently pour the mixture into the tin.

Unwrap the foil from the Caramello eggs and place them at even intervals into the mixture.

Bake for approximately 20-30 minutes at 180°C. You can test if the brownies are cookedthrough by inserting a wooden skewer into the centre of the tin. If it comes out clean, they're ready to be taken out of the oven.

Let the brownies cool and dust with sifted icing sugar.
