The TBSA is an organization formed by students to strengthen and facilitate the relationship between all

stakeholders within the Business Administration program at Trent University by creating unity among students,

faculty, alumni and the community at large. We aspire to challenge and assist Trent University to continually

progress toward a diverse and unique school of business.

Canadian Association of Business Students.

The Trent Business Students’ Association (TBSA) is a proud member of the Canadian Association of Business

Students (CABS). CABS brings together business students associations similar to the TBSA from across Canada.

CABS hosts multiple conferences covering both the practical learning and leadership. Delegates from Trent and

other business students’ associations participate in leadership and governance seminar as well as academically

focused case competitions such as JDC Central. TBSA has leveraged its CABS membership to learn about best

practices from other member schools, which has led to a consistent increase in value of the Trent University

Business Administration degree.

It is our pleasure to present to you the partnership possibilities for Trent JDC Central 2017. If you

are not aware of what JDC Central is, allow us to explain - JDC Central is a three-day competition that

showcases academics, athletics, social spirit, and charity. Delegates compete in academic case

competitions, parliamentary style debates, sports tournaments and social competitions. The event lets

students showcase all aspects of university life from school spirit and dedication, to academic skills and

teamwork. JDC Central is Canada’s fastest growing business student competition. In 2016, there were

over seven hundred competitors from fourteen major business schools, making JDC Central one of the

largest competitions around. JDC Central boasts the most talented and well-rounded students from

across Central & Atlantic Canada. This year, the competition will be held in Ottawa from January 6th-

9th, 2017.

Trent University's performance in 2016 showed a substantial improvement over previous years

with our teams’ performance improving year by year. We would like to continue with that tradition by

leading an even stronger team this year. Trent will be sending a team of 48 of our best business students

to compete in Ottawa at JDC Central 2017 in January.

Throughout the following pages, you will discover the exciting events and sponsorship

opportunities we are offering your business this year. Your business’ patronage will help contribute to

Trent’s overall success. Furthermore, your contribution will increase your brand exposure to over 700

students and hundreds of spectators and corporate sponsors for the duration of the competition. Please

note that all the amounts are negotiable to suit your needs and ours.

Team Clothing Title Sponsor (2 available) Team Clothing is a vital component of the JDC Central culture. Clothing is the key driver of public brand

exposure to all JDC Central competitors and sponsors. Trent University team clothing will have exposure

to over seven hundred business students from schools across Ontario and Eastern Canada. This

exposure is why the quality and development of team clothing is vital to the representation of the Trent

JDC Central team and to all of our sponsors.

This sponsor will choose to fund a large portion of the team’s clothing apparel. The clothing apparel will

include the Trent JDC Central team logo and the logos of all sponsors with their logo size proportionate

to their donation level. Title sponsors will be given “title” locations on key articles of clothing.

Case Study Submission and Evaluation This category will allow for you to submit a case pertaining to a current or past issue within your

organization. It will then be presented to the teams, who fall under that umbrella, for evaluation. They

will generate solutions to your problem and present them to you, or a panel of individuals from your

organization, for consideration.

Sponsor a Delegate This is great way to help out the delegates that may not necessarily have the financial ability to

participate in the competition but have the ability to represent Trent JDC Central in an impactful way.

The sponsor may request to meet with the delegate they are sponsoring. The cost of sponsoring a

delegate is $500, however partial sponsorships are also welcome.

Donations

Trent JDC Central is fortunate to have access to a trust account managed by the University.

Donors can choose to donate any amount directly to Trent JDC Central through a trust account.

Donations made to Trent JDC Central will receive a tax credit for their donation.
