Longhorns continuewinning ways

their Homecoming game lastweek as they defeated the CrossPlains Buffaloes by a score of41-0. The victory improved theHorns record to 4-1 in the non-district portion of their schedule.
The Longhorns led 28-0 athalftime. Creed Coalson scoredon a 24 yard run in the firstquarter and again on the firstplay of the second quarter on a38 yard run. Ty Lee scored from11 yards out just two minutes
later after the defense forced athree and out. The Buffalopunter mishandled the snap fromcenter and allowed the rush teamto get him corralled before hecould get the punt away. With5:21 to play in the second,Jordan Baumann ran the ball infrom 7 yards out to close out thefirst half scoring. Adrian Padillamade all 4 of the PAT’s in thefirst half.
In the second half, the Hornsscored on their openingpossession as Jordan Baumannscampered 42 yards on a trapplay. The extra point try wasblocked however, and left thescore 34-0. In the 4th quarter,Kolby Lee ran the ball in from 1yard out and Adrian’s PAT kickclosed out the scoring.
The Horns had a greatdefensive game as they limitedthe Buffaloes to 109 yards oftotal offense and recovered twoBuffalo fumbles. One wasrecovered by Ty Lee and theother by Lance Burns. MasonHoyt recovered a Longhornfumble that allowed one of thedrives to continue. It was nice toget the victory after coming offof last week’s game and finishoff our non-district with a win.All of the kids got to play and wewere able to get a look at abunch of different positions.
This week, the Horns willbegin District 6-A play as theytravel to Menard for the opener.Game time will be 7:30.

Joe’l Sefcik, aBronte High School alumni and current admission’s representa-tive at Angelo State University recently came to BHS to talk tothe seniors and juniors about ASU. She discussed the variousdegrees offered, financial aid, the CARR Scholarship program,dorms, extracurricular activities and the services ASU providesall students.
