The victory improved the Horns record to 4-1 in the non- district portion of their schedule. The Longhorns led 28-0 at halftime. Creed Coalson scored on a 24 yard run in the first quarter and again on the first play of the second quarter on a 38 yard run. Ty Lee scored from 11 yards out just two minutes later after the defense forced a three and out. The Buffalo punter mishandled the snap from center and allowed the rush team to get him corralled before he could get the punt away. With 5:21 to play in the second, Jordan Baumann ran the ball in from 7 yards out to close out the first half scoring. Adrian Padilla made all 4 of the PAT’s in the first half. In the second half, the Horns scored on their opening possession as Jordan Baumann scampered 42 yards on a trap play. The extra point try was blocked however, and left the score 34-0. In the 4th quarter, Kolby Lee ran the ball in from 1 yard out and Adrian’s PAT kick closed out the scoring. The Horns had a great defensive game as they limited the Buffaloes to 109 yards of total offense and recovered two Buffalo fumbles. One was recovered by Ty Lee and the other by Lance Burns. Mason Hoyt recovered a Longhorn fumble that allowed one of the drives to continue. It was nice to get the victory after coming off of last week’s game and finish off our non-district with a win. All of the kids got to play and we were able to get a look at a bunch of different positions. This week, the Horns will begin District 6-A play as they travel to Menard for the opener. Game time will be 7:30. Evans Scholarship applications now available The Bronte United Methodist Women announce that applications for the Sid and Bernice Evans Scholarship are now being accepted.
