The October poetry reading group will take place on Thursday, October 12, at 11:30am, in the Media Room. Bring your favorite poems (original or by other writers) to share! We’d like to share a poem written by resident Jean C., who read this poem at last month’s meeting. Jean wrote this poem after moving to the Avant.
As you can see, a new address had to be. The Avant is fun, friendly, meal times tasty too.
Julie nearby assures appointments as due. We keep busy here,
Lectures and concerts and trips to the city, Tai chi and yoga, no room for self-pity.
Unlike the old woman, the one in the shoe, We frolic and gambol, winning Trivia’s a coup. I’m loving the seasons, the beauty they bring,
Come visit or maybe just give me a ring.
