A concert benefiting the Carroll County Food Pantry will be held at the Carroll County Middle School Auditorium from 6- 9 p.m. on Saturday, April 21. Local Christian musi- cians The Infinite Realm will serve as the host group for the concert, billed as a “Feed the Hungry” Gospel Jubilee. Also appearing will be the Commonwealth Quartet from Nashville, Tenn., and Hearts of Joy, a trio based in Hanover, Ind. The Carroll County Food Pantry, located at the St. John’s Catholic Church on Fifth Street in Carrollton, has been in existence for 25 years, feeding many in the community who need help to make it to their next paycheck. According to local attorney Ruth Baxter, who oversees the charitable activity, approximately 120 people are fed every month, and 600-700 are fed during the Christmas season with food baskets from the pan- try. The concert admission price is $10 for ages 12 and older; $5 for ages 4 to 11; and children under four years of age will be admit- ted free. Discounts will be given to concertgoers who present canned food items at the door on the evening of the concert. You may bring up to five canned food items for each person attending and $1 will be deducted from the amount for each can donated. Thus, ages 12 and over will be admitted for $5 plus five cans of food; under 12 gets in free with five cans of food. The admission money will be split between the groups for their expenses to perform (traveling, lodg- ing, equipment, etc.). All canned food items will be donated to the food pantry to help re-stock the supply of food for those in need in the local area. Hearts of Joy, a trio con- sisting of Sue Cline, Steve and Esther Bright, of Hanover, began their career at Hanover Baptist Church where they are frequently featured presenting special music in services. Those appearances grew into a concert ministry that has taken them to a number of venues in several states to share their unique blend of three-part harmony. Hearts of Joy have appeared on several programs with The Infinite Realm previously. The Commonwealth Quartet is well known locally having made sev- eral appearances at the Carrollton Christian Church. The group con- sists of Dewayne Harris, his brother Shane Harris, Tom Sammons and Kevin Sanderson. The group recently signed a record- ing and distribution agree- ment with HeartWarming Records, a division of Homeland Inspiration Group. The Infinite Realm, organized in 1969 at Trimble County High School, consists of seven TCHS graduates, includ- ing Carrollton resident Tony Gossom, vocals and 12 string guitar; Bedford resident Paul Wright, vocals and drums; Neal Wright, Campbellsburg, keyboards, vocals and bass guitar; sound engi- neer Ken Boyer, Milton; Steve Brown, tambourine and vocals, Hanover, Ind.; Rick Mahoney, vocals, bass guitar and keyboards, Hanover, Ind.; and Dave Taylor, vocals and guitar, Lexington, Ind. The Realm recently recorded their latest CD album in Hendersonville, Tenn., with engineer Ron Fairchild who played key- boards for the Grammy Award-winning Oak Ridge Boys for 31 years. The album is currently in post production and the group hopes to have it available at the April 21 concert. The Carroll County Middle School is located at 408 Fifth Street in Carrollton Doors will open at 5 p.m. for all those attend- ing the Jubilee. Bring a friend, family members, or just come out yourself and enjoy a wonderful eve- ning of gospel music and help those in need in the process.
