Message from Administration: The Arizona Department of Education has chosen to use the AZMerit assessment to re-
place the AIMS annual state assessment. Although we’re still learning more and more
since the decision was announced in early November, we have attached a letter from the
Department of Education to this newsletter with the information to parents. As more
news becomes available, we’ll be sure to pass it along.
As a reminder, attendance is very important to student success. According to Arizona
State Statutes and the Navajo Nation Attendance Laws, students need to be in school.
We often have students who are pulled out for travel. Please ensure your child only miss-
es school when they are ill.

* 1st Semester ends on December 19th *
The last day of school before the holiday break is December 19th
and it’s a half day of school. Finals will be held the 15th through
the 19th. There will be no make ups allowed for finals before or
after the break. Please make sure your child is in school these
days. School will resume on January 5th.
Holiday Hours
The front office will be
closed from December
22—January 5th. We will
return to our normal
business hours on the 5th
of January.
Student Check-Outs
Student checkouts should
be kept to a minimum.
Please try to schedule
appointments or events
you want your student to
participate in off campus
after the school day
hours. Your child’s edu-
cation is dependent on
his/her learning time.
Also , interruptions in the
classroom take other
students off task when
check out notes are de-
livered to class.
