Developing Quality Teaching

Aims of course: Enabling outstanding outcomes for all children requires a significant investment in teachers at all levels. This four week programme is designed to challenge teachers to unpick what assessment-led teaching and learning looks like and how to develop and enhance their own practice in pursuit of excellent outcomes for all learners. This course is aimed at teachers in the early stages of their career, those returning to teaching or those looking to develop their expertise. It has been carefully designed from research and our own evidence base to target identified aspects of teaching and learning that have most impact in the classroom. Reflecting on key aspects of teaching and learning, delegates will participate in four lively practical sessions, including classroom observations and learning walks. They will be expected to keep a learning journal, identifying individual targets or actions they will complete each week to share and review with the group the following week, as well as a final short and long term action plan at the end of the programme.
