TIARAS AND TALES Tues., Aug. 5 6:30 PM Ages 5-8 Spend a fun-filled time of songs, stories and games with “a Princess Tiana”. Pre-registration is necessary and begins July 22.

LET’S GO LEGO-ING! Thurs., Aug. 7 4:00 PM Ages 9-12* We provide the Lego bricks, you provide your imagination! Your project will go on display in the Youth Services Dept. This is part of SHPL’s STEM programming. Pre-registration is necessary and begins July 24.

MUSICAL STORY GO ROUND Sat., Aug. 9 2:00 PM Ages 4-7 Catch a ride on the Musical Story Go-Round with songs, stories, rhythm instruments and FUN! This program is part of the Library’s continuing effort to promote early literacy. Pre-registration is necessary and begins July 26.

TODDLER TIME Tues., Aug. 12 10:30 AM Ages 2 and 3 years old with an adult Team up with your toddler for stories, musical activities and a simple craft . Pre-registration is necessary and begins July 29.

HIGH TECH TRIVIA SHOWDOWN Sat. Aug., 16 2:oo PM Ages 9-14 Think you can out-study your buddies? For this event you’ll be using cool and free web tools to help you prepare for round 1 of our new High Tech Trivia Showdown. The winner will receive a Target gift card. Space is limited. Parents are welcome to accompany their child. Pre-registration is necessary and begins Aug. 2.

The South Holland Public Library will be offering many exciting new computer classes during the next year thanks to funding granted us by the Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity (DCEO) program, Bridging the Digital Divide 2014-2015. Under this program the DCEO awarded the South Holland Public Library $72,570 to increase our class offerings and add specialized software needed to teach these, as well as replace old equipment. We hope you will come here often to learn new skills for jobs and pleasure. This grant program seeks to provide access to computers, telecommunications technologies and related training.
