Shooting Stars

Every child is like a shooting star,

Never meant to be corrupted-

or held captive.

They only look good as a shooting star.

Flying across the sky,

Enlightening everyone’s eyes,

With their personalities;

Astonishing everyone,

With their qualities,

Making everyone feel happy,

With cute smiles on their faces.

Never meant to cause you pain

As they have come as saints.

They are the shooting stars

Bringing colours to your life

And happiness into your heart.

Never underestimate them

As they will cross your expectations.

They will have downfalls

Because after all …a shooting star does return-

… to earth and fall.

But again they will rise

Brightening your eyes,

Showing you what they have got,

They will do it with their heart and soul

Then no one can stop them from their goal;

After all they are shooting stars!

THE HAUNTED HOUSE

I saw the black eyes glaring at me, I was so scared, I didn’t know what to do until I arrived at this haunted house. I could hear the

wolves howling and the bright moon shining on me. Shivering icy fear was going down my spine as I knocked on the door but nobody

was answered it. Then I pushed it with all my strength

The door suddenly opened with a loud bang, I took one careful step inside and I looked around the house. It was so dark with no light

switched on, nothing could be seen, absolutely nothing…. I could feel dead bodies surrounding me, all trying to grab me and take me

away from all the one who love me so dearly. It was getting darker. I was so petrified that I couldn’t move. In the darkness, all I could

do was smell the acrid smell of decaying flesh. I decided to climb up the creepy staircase and each step I took felt like I was stuck in a

nightmare. I could hear dreadful sounds as I was climbing up and it made me frightened. When I reached at the top of the staircase in

front of me, stood a ghastly treasure box, I opened it and saw it was full of skulls. I screamed in terror at the hell raising scene before

me.

Suddenly I heard footsteps along the corridor. I ran as fast as I could. As if someone was chasing me. As I was running, out of

nowhere, I slipped and hurt my head. I looked up and there was blood dripping from the ceiling because a body was stabbed in the

middle of the stomach and was hanging. I sat up and in front of me was a blurred shape of a man dressed in a black hooded cloak in

his deathly white face. He held a knife that had a glistening blade. He stepped towards me and I caught a glimpse of his sinister

toothless grin. Just as he whirled the knife at me, I heard my mum shouting “Simran! wake up, being late for school”. I opened my

eyes and breathed a big sigh of relief. I was never so happy to go to school that morning.
