I first got involved in Youth for Christ when I was invited by a friend to a Campus Life Breakfast Club at my middle school. They had food, music and some crazy games. I remember the leader was nuts and full of energy! Some time after that, I was in an accident. I was physically okay but mentally and spiritually shook up. The things that I heard and was taught at Campus Life Breakfast Cub were hav-ing an affect on me. My family and I started going to Church. I heard the Word and was saved. Youth for Christ had planted a seed in my heart that led me to that conversion. When I began high school, I met a great group of kids that were believers and I wanted to be like them. I saw that their faith was real. There was a Christian club on campus that was spon-sored by YFC and I became involved. I look back on my years with YFC with much fondness knowing the foun-dation they helped lay in my life. Be-ing a Club leader helped me see my leadership poten-

tial. I was a leader for my youth group and eventually I was on staff at my current church as the Youth Director. Thank you, Youth For Christ, for being a faithful ministry for a boy who was still finding his way. -Juan

Cultivating life-long followers

I remember a time in my life where I felt so alone. I felt like there was no one there for me. I had lost all hope and faith. I wondered if there was anyone who could save me from the gang life-style I was in. I needed help. Because of Teen Moms, my daughter and I have a safe place. A place where I am reminded that someone loves me more than I could imagine. I wanted to experience that love more than anything and I gave Him my life. It isn’t always easy, but I know my leaders are always praying for me and if I needed them, they would be there. I love Teen Moms because I know that my future is brighter because of Jesus and the new family that he has tied me with. -Monica

As a kid my father was a Jehovah witness and my mother was agnostic. The division that religion created had me questioning God and if he even existed. I grew up having very little. When I was 13, I started selling things I stole to make money to buy things that would help me fit in with my peers. From there I began using and selling drugs. My grades slipped and I became very rebellious. After having a brush with the law, I came to realize that “fitting in” wasn’t worth it. At that same time I became friends with a DJ and I be-came involved in the Hip-Hop community. In a lot of ways, it saved my life. Then YFC’s Catalyst opened and the people were so nice and loving. Although they didn’t come from the hip-hop culture, they wanted to under-stand us and show us that they cared. It was the first time I actually felt the love of Christ through people that weren’t judgmental or religious. I gave my life to Christ last year. It finally filled the void that I have been searching for my entire life. Nothing can take away that peace I have from knowing I have a savior. -William
