IMERYS Carbonates mineral processing expertise allows us to offer innovative additive solutions to match the requirements of your paint and coating applications. All of our products are backed by a high standard of technical service, product development and research from a team of experienced scientists and specialists in the application of minerals in the paint and coating industries.
Our extensive range of calcium carbonate and dolomite grades are manufactured from a variety of selected chalk, limestone, marble and dolomitic deposits. A wide range of particle sizes and powder brightness helps to ensure reliable quality and consistency of the end product.
These materials find use in a range of paint and coating applications, where they can be used for cost reduction reasons in extending one of the key expensive components in formulations such as TiO2 and binding polymer. They are also used as functional fillers for high brightness, enhanced opacity, improving rheological and mechanical properties and weathering resistance.
IMERYS marble based products are recommended for use in general industrial metal primers and road marking paints, and the Imextend™ range is particularly well suited to extending TiO2 properties in Powder Coatings for domestic appliance areas.

IMERYS GCC slurry grades are available in various locations to increase the production efficiency and to provide cost savings in the formulation for paint producers.
Aquacarb™402 is a high-solid marble slurry that is designed to replace the traditional combination of 2µm and 5µm dry GCC products, while maintaining matting & mechanical properties. Using slurries in emulsion paint manufacture can reduce costs through energy reduction and improved production capacity.
