PROCEDURE: Safety precautions should be observed at all times. Children should wear smocks to
cover clothing.
PREPARATION: Set aside drying area prior to starting activity
Put small amounts of paint in cups
Each child should place their names on back of paper for identification
ACTIVITY:
1.) Have a child pick out their favorite colors, or use from preselected colors
2.) Place marbles in plastic cups and swirl around to be ensure entire surface is coated
3.) Place paper in approximate center of box. You do not need to tape or attach. As soon as
marbles start rolling around the paint will cause the paper to stick to box
4.) Place marbles in box in area off paper
5.) Have children gently swirl marbles around in box. They can experiment with different
motions and strengths to create patterns. Initial placement of marbles also allows for a
greater variety
6.) Marbles can be dipped in paint to refresh paint supply
7.) When child is finished, remove paper from box and place in drying area Due to short time required, students could easily create more than one masterpiece
