Ms. Elvira Hieke was born on January 2, 1964 to Bishop Ode H.

Hines and Janette C. Hieke in Halifax, NC. She departed this life

on November 22, 2019.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Janette C. Hieke; and

brother, Jerome Hieke.

Elvira accepted Christ at an early age at Shiloh Missionary Baptist

Church and later was united with Koinonia Christian Center. In her

leisure, she enjoyed outings with her family and friends.

Elvira leaves to cherish her memory, three children: Jermain R.

Hieke, Ernest L. Norfleet and Rhaesha V. Battle; one grandchild,

A’Vionna N. Sessoms who she called her, “Boo Boo”; her father,

Bishop Ode H. Hines; four siblings: Michael A. Hines, Rev.

Antoninus H. Hines, Tonia O. Evans and Latasha M. Rowe; two

aunts: Marie Hieke and Glender Moore; two uncles: Johnnie

Cooper and Willie L. Hines; three young men she was fond of that

she called her “boys:” Emanuel Sessoms, Tyheim Clemons and

Jermaine Johnson; four young women she called her “Girls:”

DaQuanua Barrett, Tyonda Grimes, Marshae Goodman and Ellen

Roach; and a host of aunts, uncles, great aunts, great uncles, other

relatives and friends.
