Remove the 2 bolts from the end-caps and familiarize yourself with the components of the DiffLock clamp: inner spline-support (black); outer spline (red); L and R end-caps; 2 x M5 bolts/star washers.

02

Push the spline assembly into the head of the seatpost, with the saddle-supports of the black inner spline approximately level.

01

Align the etched mark on the black inner spline with the etched mark on the red outer spline, and slide the two together to form a single assembly.

Tools needed: - 4 mm allen key (or torque wrench with 4 mm bit) - Builder’s spirit level or inclinometer

HOW TO ASSEMBLE AND ADJUST YOUR NEW SEATPOST

PALLADIO is a new generation of seatpost. The clamping mechanism, DiffLock™, is completely differ-ent than any seatpost you have assembled before. Please take the time to read these instructions which advise you how to fit and adjust your saddle. Please note the palladio is suitable for 7mm round rails.

03 04

Clip the saddle onto the support rails. Don’t fit the end-caps yet. Hold the saddle in place and, using a spirit level or inclinometer, determine if the saddle is nose up or nose down.

Now for fine adjustment of the saddle. If the saddle is nose-down, first lift the saddle off the rails. Now re-move the spline assembly from the head of the seat-post and rotate it one tooth forwards (exaggerating the nose-down attitude by 9.5 deg). Leaving the red outer spline in place, carefully slide the black inner spline-support out, keeping its position relative to the outer spline.

05

Now rotate the inner spline one tooth towards the rear, and slide it back into the outer spline. This brings the nose up by 10 deg. You have rotated the saddle support 0.5 degrees nose up, correcting the nose down attitude. If the saddle is nose-up, the process is reversed.

Place the saddle on the black spline-support and offer up the end-caps to clamp the saddle rails in place. Install and lightly tighten the M5 bolts.

06

Adjust the fore-and-aft position as desired before finally tightening the bolts evenly on both sides until the saddle is held firm. Do not exceed the maximum marked torque of 5 Nm.

07

Important note: One-half of one degree is an exceptionally fine adjustment. As a rough guide, when using a spirit level to determine saddle angle, ‘half a bubble’ out of level is about 2 degrees. In this case, you will need to rotate the outer spline by 4 teeth in the appropriate di-rection, and the inner spline a corresponding 4 teeth in the opposite direction.
