Technology Integration RationaleIt makes sense to incorporate technology into a poetry topic because many students can learn through a visual and auditory representation versus a lecture. Poetry can be taught through reading and writing, but also we can integrate technology through poetry by watching videos, but also playing games with rhyming words, and fill in the blanks to make the poem complete. There are plenty of poetry games that can teach students how the patterns flow, and what types of poetry is available to learn.

Evaluation and Citation of Internet ContentWhile learning and teaching poetry, students can learn through Internet Content. On the Internet is a wide variety of websites that can supply games, or show images of what a poem looks like and sounds like. There are also instructions on the Internet on how to construct a poem, and what type of poem you want to construct.

1. Youtubehttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pYB3u9714I This website from Youtube is a video that can provide us with How to construct poems.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Pi8cUcviHT8 This video from Youtube is a video that explains the types of poetry that exist, and teaches us the different types.https://www.youtube.com/user/thisispoetryslaminc For advanced poetry writers, here are Poetry Slam videos to watch for entertainment, and to watch poets read their powerful poems they have written.

2. Poetry Games and Interactive Lessons Onlinehttp://interactivesites.weebly.com/poetry.html This is a website that allows students to interactively engage in learning more about poetry.http://www.funenglishgames.com/readinggames/poem.html This is a site where poetry games can be played, and the more you get correct, the higher level you will advance to.

3. Read Write Think http://www.readwritethink.org/classroom-resources/grade/3-4/ This website has a wide variety of information about poetry. It has everything on this useful website from poetry games, to lesson plans, to interactive engaging lessons. This would be very useful for students who wanted freedom to explore with their new knowledge.

Kidspiration

The Poetry Zoo is a great way to introduce the different types of poetry by using a graphic organizer. Children would love it, and appreciate the fun color and organizational part of the learning. Each small bubble is where the student will write what type of poetry they have learned, and next to it is lines where the student could write descriptions or thoughts about this type of poetry. This fun diagram would help students remember the types, styles, and descriptions!

3-1 Website- Useful!http://www.mobile-marketing-company.net/poetry-online.html I would most definitely use this website while teaching my students, but then allowing them to go on their own and explore. This website has poems that one can read, poems that one could create, and games that a student could play. It is essentially everything one would need for students to explore on their own.

Student ParticipationKaHoot! (game)KaHoot is a game where the teacher creates a fun game on a technology device (tablet, ipad, iphone, laptop) that students have to enter a code, and click the answer they believe it to be correct. The teacher and students can collaborate and work together as a team, but share anonymous answers. The teacher can see what the students need to improve on, and the students can practice their skills of poetry. https://kahoot.it/#/

OverallI hope these links were useful! Each website, worksheet, game, and activity is designed to help students and incorporate technology to help the students learn, and grow. Learning about poetry can be very exciting to some students, and boring for others. I want to get the students excited about the possibilities they have while learning about poetry and how technology can get them excited about learning!
