LONG-TERM PROJECTS

WHERE WE’RE GOINGWHERE WE WORK

PMI accomplished its mission to provide long-term, sustainable healthcare to those in need through the development of sustainable health care centers in the regions where we serve. Those centers are then supported, in-part, through short-term medical trips- such

as the one you are about to embark on!

The project has received the approval and partnership of the Ministry of Health in Uganda, the appropriate business and NGO filings with the Ugandan government,

and all necessary permits and approvals from the city of Masindi. The medical campus includes an Outpatient Facility (opened Dec 2010), Inpatient Ward (opened Oct 2011), and Labor and Maternity Ward with surgical theaters (opened Oct 2012).

The Masindi-Kitara Medical Center (MKMC), PMI’s first project, is quickly becoming a leading healthcare center in the Masindi region.

We are preparing to begin the development of our second site in Nicaragua in the northern town of Sébaco.

The grand opening of our medical center in Nicaragua took place in January 2014. Since then, we have been seeing a steadily growing stream of patients. The town of El Viejo is a center of transit in this region of Nicaragua, so it is the perfect place to catch travelers moving through. The location of our medical center sits on

a busy intersection, making itself very accessible to the community.

BURUNDI

PMI is thrilled to have moved into Burundi. We will be constructing a medical center in the town of Bugarama, two hours east of the capital, Bujumbura. We have identified land for the construction of our site, and we are slated to begin construction later this

year. We can’t wait to see how this project develops over the coming months!
