MAMMALSPanda bears are mammals. And in zoos they live to be 35 years old!

PANDA CHARACTERISTICS

Pandas have fur that is black and white. Their height is2.5 feet at shoulders. And their length is 5 feet with a 6 inch tail. Males weigh around 220 pounds.

DIET AND HABITATPanda bears eat bamboo stocks and leaves sometimes they eat fish or other small animals bamboo accounts on 99 percent of their diets.

ADAPTATIONS

Pandas molars are very broad and flat. The shape of these teeth help them crush the Bamboo. They hold he stems with their front paws witch have enlarged wrist bones that act as thumps for gripping!!

AMAZING FACTS

Pandas almost eat nothing but bamboo shoots and leaves. Only about 1,000 survive in the wild.

ENDANGERED Panda Bears are one of the most endangered species in the

world. With only about 1,000 living in the wild. Pandas are endangered because people are cutting down their forest.

MY FAVORITE

. When panda babies are born they are only as big as a human thumb. By the time they are 1 years old they weigh as much as a average third grader.

Pandas spend about 12 hours a day eating!

A panda should have at least 2 bamboo species in it’s habitats or it could starve!

AMAZING INFORMATION

Sometimes when all of the bamboo dies pandas starve because they are unable to move to new areas where other bamboo species thrive.

Panda bear cubs are born with out hair and their eyes are closed!

PANDA HABIT SHRINKS

As people continue to farm , log and develop land higher up the mountain stoops the panda habitat continues to shrinks.
