Du 14 juillet au 9 septembre prochains, sous l’esplanade du Grimaldi Forum de Monaco, on commandera son déjeuner selon un code couleur Pantone. On vous en dit plus sur ce Pantone Café éphémère.

On ne vous présente plus Pantone, le système d’identification, de correspondance des couleurs qui associe à chacune de ces dernières son propre code. On pensait la société n’intéresser que les graphistes et pourtant ! Cet été, du 14 juillet au 9 septembre 2015, les fondateurs du concept s’associent à ceux du Grimaldi Forum de Monaco et montent, sur l’esplanade du centre culturel, le Pantone Café.

Le concept du lieu ? Associer le goût des jus, sandwichs, pâtisseries, glaces et autres mets et boissons proposés à une vraie couleur Pantone. Ainsi, du petit-déjeuner (10h) jusqu’au début de soirée (20h ou 22h le jeudi), vous pourrez commander une «glace Vanilla Ice 11-0414», un «éclair Pistachio Green 13-0221», un «sandwich Tomato Red Mozza White 18-1660» ou encore un «jus Vibrant Orange 16-1364». Et déguster le tout sous la pergola décorée d’un mobilier très pop.

Vous ne comptez pas faire de tour à Monaco ? Sachez que le Pantone Café va être développé à l’international, «dans des hauts lieux culturels ou liés à la mode». Et donc bientôt à Paris pendant la Fashion Week ?

Aesthetic zealots, listen up: your prayers for the perfect color-coordinated foodstagram have been answered. Head to the promenade of the Grimaldi Forum in Monaco to eat at the Pantone Cafe, a restaurant that, you guessed it, models itself around the Lawrence Herbert color matching system.

The Pantone system has had a following for years; people seems to not only love it for it’s practical printing purposes, but for their pleasingly minimalistic and now iconic color chips. The craze for the chips have inspired numerous pieces of apparel, dish ware, Pinterest boards and even a hotel. But Pantone Cafe believes that they are adding a new sensory element to the obsession.

Their mantra is “taste the colors.” Every item sold by the cafe (as well as the restaurant’s napkins, tables, chairs and coffee makers) has a corresponding Pantone color code, listed alongside the food. Patrons are able to order things like a Tomato Red Mozza White #18-1660 sandwich or a Vibrant Orange #16-1364 juice.

The patio dining area looks over Larvotto beach front, making Pantone a color-themed establishment in an already color-filled place. Sigh, I guess you’ll have to go to Monaco one day to check it out.

In our second installment of cafes that you wish were down the street instead of across the world, we travel to the Principality of Monaco for the expressed purpose of drooling over the brand-new Pantone Cafe.

Located on the “esplanade of the Grimaldi Forum” within the France-adjacent independent microstate, the Cafe’s namesake and design comes directly from Lawrence Herbert’s masterful color-matching system, which he developed in 1963. The aesthetically pleasing swatches, the basis of the Pantone system, have inspired admiration from graphic designers to casual minimalists across the globe. Pantone even pleases (or enrages) the masses by picking the color of the year.

In keeping with the vivid and playful theme, everything at the restaurant matches a very specific Pantone color. Want a glass of OJ? You better be prepared to order a “Vibrant Orange #16-1364 juice.” The attention to detail—all the way down to the furniture, napkins, and coffee cups—is incredible.

Unfortunately, this rainbow dream is only temporary (one point to you, Bar Luce). The pop-up Pantone Cafe will only be available to spend your dreamy afternoons in from July 14–August 23, so you better book your flight to Monaco now to be able to “taste the colors.”

Located on the promenade of the Grimaldi Forum in Monaco, the newly-opened PANTONE café boasts a colorful and vivid color scheme hailing directly from the color swatch institute.

On offer is a menu of sandwiches, salads, snacks, juices and soft drinks, all revolving around the tagline “Taste the Colors”. The color coordination doesn’t just apply to the food and beverages though; everything in the café from the tables, chairs, napkins, and coffeemaker all bear corresponding PANTONE color codes.

Fancy dining on a ‘Tomato Red Mozza White #18-1660 Sandwich’ or sipping on ‘Vibrant Orange #16-1364 Juice’? You’d have to hurry to make your way over, as the café is a pop-up that’s running from now until 9 September, 2015.

PANTONE knows we love color. They also know we love food, apparently. That’s why the color system and forecasting company has brought these two passions of ours together for the first-ever PANTONE Café.

Its slogan — «Taste the colors» — is translated into a menu that plays on the brand’s signature color codes with drinks like the Tropical Blue Granita #13-5313 and the Bianco Martini #11-0105. The café offers much more than cocktails, though, from drinks and snacks to cold pressed juices, sandwiches and desserts–namely the Decadent Chocolate Éclair #19-1625 (yum!).

But while the color-inspired menu may be the draw, you’ll also want to stay for the view. The café overlooks the Ligurian Sea, a stretch of the Mediterranean, and is just steps away from Monaco’s gorgeous Japanese Garden. Can’t you just imagine sipping on a Ross Martini #18-1561 while taking in the sights?

This isn’t PANTONE’s first venture into hospitality. Not too long ago, the color expert debuted a posh, vibrant hotel in Brussels, Belgium. And given the company’s huge following of color-happy folks, there’s no telling what rainbow world it will dream up next.

The PANTONE Café is located on the esplanade of Monaco’s Grimaldi Forum and will be open through August 23.

A orillas de la Costa Azul, en Mónaco, la compañía Monaco Restaurant Group recientemente abrió Pantone Cafe, una colorida cafetería inspirada en el sistema de identificación, correspondencia y comuniación de color creado por Lawrence Herbert en 1963. Desde hace más de cincuenta años, Pantone ha colaborado con la comuniad creativa y artística, además de trasladar la estética de sus sistema a objetos variados, desde tazas hasta protectores para celulares. Este verano colorea el Grimaldi Forum, en Mónaco, con una cafetería efímera que permanecerá abierta hasta septiembre 9.

Pantone Cafe, totalmente efímero, estará abierto desde la hora del desayuno con café y pastelería, para permanecer abierto todo el día con bebidas, sándwiches, focaccias y helados artesanales. Los nombres de las bebidas y comida va de acuerdo al tono Pantone que representa. Se puede elegir entre un café negro Pantone 19-11, un eclair de chocolate Pantone 19-1625 o una ensalada verde Pantone 15-5534. La combinación de colores sólidos se extiende de los alimentos y a las bebidas al mobiliario, servilletas, tazas y máquinas de café.

Esta no es la primera vez que Pantone figura en los espacios cotidianos de las personas. Hace un par de años, la empresa debutó con un vibrante hotel de siete pisos en Bruselas, Bélgica. En este lugar, como es de esperarse, todos los tonos usados en la decoración derivan directamente de sus icónicas paletas de colores, lo que permite al huésped elegir la habitación que va de acuerdo a su mood.

A ideia da cafeteria pop-up é incentivar seus clientes a “provar as cores”, mas a paleta vai além do menu e inclui os códigos oficiais em móveis, guardanapos e até máquinas de café. Installés en plein air ou à l’intérieur, sous la verrière du centre culturel monégasque, les gourmands pourront déguster une granita, un sandwich, un éclair au chocolat ou encore une madeleine… Le tout accompagné d’une glace ou d’une boisson fraîche. Secret’s out: We’re obsessed with all things Pantone. Oh, you already knew that? Well, then… this is awkward. Now that we’ve gotten that out of the way, it’s time to share some exciting + major Instagram-worthy developments from the color co that recently gave us Minion Yellow. We thought nothing could actually top that, but here we are. Drumroll, please… the latest colorful creation from Pantone is its very own cafe!

Step aside, Pantone Hotel + Pantone Color of the Year, we’ve got a more important (+ tasty) colorful outlet to obsess over these days. The Pantone Café is the newly opened pop-up restaurant on the promenade of the Grimaldi Forum in Monaco. Don’t worry — booking a trip to the French Riviera ASAP will totally be worth it, because you’ll “taste the colors” and endlessly Instagram them courtesy of the expansive menu featuring salads, sandwiches, snacks, juices and soft drinks all named after a Pantone color and number. So your daydreams of ordering up a Vibrant Orange #16-1364 juice + Tomato Red Mozza White #18-1660 sandwich while sitting on Pantone-coordinated chairs + tables and using Pantone-color napkins + plates on the French Riviera is now a reality. At least until September 9, when the vibrant pop-up closes up shop (and hopefully comes stateside). Fingers crossed, right? Colour is literally on the menu at Pantone’s new pop-up café in Monaco. Located on Grimaldi Forum, the temporary establishment provides a brilliantly hued counterpoint to the already-colourful backdrop of Larvotta beach, where vacationers can ‘Taste the Colors’ until early September.

Founded in 1963 by Lawrence Herbert, the New Jersey-based colour systems company has enjoyed a cult following for years, inspiring everything from a chocolate colour chart to an entire hotel. The photogenic space – realised by Monaco Restaurant Group (the same firm behind Mozza and Song Qi) – pays homage to the iconic Pantone Matching System, with numerical codes and swatches assigned to the tables, napkins, and chairs.

The café serves up an extensive menu of salads, sandwiches, ice cream, granitas and more – all of which have also been matched to a Pantone chip and accordingly packaged. Patrons can opt for a chocolate éclair (Decadent Chocolate 19-1625) or a prosciutto sandwich (Parma Brown 18-1531). We recommend washing down this Technicolor goodness with a refreshing drink. For all you brunch-Instagrammers out there, the pinnacle of culinary aestheticism has arrived. Perched on Monaco’s waterfront Grimaldi Forum sits the Pantone Cafe, a pop-up restaurant where every single item is color-coded with a Pantone color chip.

Lawrence Herbert’s color-matching system is renowned for it’s simple and minimalist organization. Seemingly every known-object has a Pantone color match, and now that includes your afternoon beach-side snack of Vanilla Ice 11-0414 ice cream.
