Materials ● Red, Black and Green Paper (A4) ● Scissors ● Pencil ● Ruler

Step 1 - Poppy Petals Fold the red paper in half, then in half again.

Step 2 Cut along the fold lines to make 4 smaller rectangles.

Step 3 Fold one of the smaller rectangles in half, then in half

again.

Step 4 Fold diagonally lining up the two edges as in the pictures.

Step 5 Draw a rough petal shape and cut out.

Step 6 Unfold and cut along folds to make 4 petals.

Step 7 - Black Centre Rule a line across the long edge of the black paper, approx 4 cm down (or 2cm if you want a smaller black centre) and cut out.

Step 7 Fold Strip in half, then in half again.

Step 8 Rule a line along the bottom edge, approx 1 cm down, this gives a guide for where to cut up to and keeps it even.

Step 9 Cut a fringe along the strip. Unfold the strip.

Step 10 Roll the fringe tightly and glue the end to hold the centre together.

Step 11 Glue the petals to the black centre.

Step 12 Open out the petals and the black centre.

Step 13 - Leaves Fold the green paper in half, in half again., then in half again.

Step 14 Draw a rough outline of a leaf and cut out.

Step 16 Unfold paper and cut leaves apart.

Step 17 Options: Wreath or Individual Flower At this point you can either make several flowers and leaves and put them together on a wreath OR you can add a stem and make an individual flower.

Step 18 - Stem (Individual Flower Option) Roll a sheet of green paper, tightly on an angle to make stem. Apply glue to hold it together.

Step 19 Glue the leaves to the stem.

Step 20 Cut slits in the end of the stem, and glue the flower on.. Glue a small strip of green on to help secure the flower to the stem.
