Read the paragraph and answer the following questions :

The vast political, economic, and social differences separating North and South indicate that the Global South is “weak, vulnerable, and insecure – with these traits being the function of both domestic and external factors”.

Coping with this insecurity has long been a primary foreign policy goal of Global South states, and efforts to overcome it have often brought the Global South into contention with the Global North. Ironically, the end of the Cold War reduced the great powers’ security interest in providing economic aid to Global South countries. With foreign assistance declining, the Global South is now experiencing new armed conflicts and economic vulnerabilities.

Given these problems, strategies to maximize security and prosperity preoccupy foreign policy thinking in the Global south. Different states have taken different approaches, however.

71. Which one of the following factors are not accountable to the weaknesses, vulnerabilities and insecurities of the Global South ?

(A) Political differences

(B) Economic disparities

(C) Social differences

(D) Geographical barriers

72. Which one of the following has been the primary foreign policy goals of the Global south countries ?

(A) Equality (B) Social emanicipation (C) Climate change (D) Insecurity issues 73. Which one of the following could be

considered as the primary reason of declining Great Power security interest towards the Global South countries ?

(A) End of the Cold War (B) Hegemonic domination (C) Financial Savings (D) Cold War barriers 74. According to the paragraph, which

one of the following is paradoxically chosen as the reason for new armed conflicts and economic vulnerabilities of the Global South countries ?

(A) Decline of foreign assistance (B) Internal political dissent (C) Foreign interference (D) Freedom from Fear 75. Maximization of security and

prosperity remain the primary pre-occupations of the Global south because of

(A) Sense of insecurity internally and externally.

(B) Lack of freedom from fear. (C) Arms purchase. (D) Foreign support.
