Definition: "Ecocriticism is the

study of the relationship

between literature and the physical

environment….takes an earth-centered approach to literary

studies.

› William Rueckert may have been the first person to use the term Ecocriticism. In 1978, Rueckert published an essay titled 

‘Literature and Ecology: An Experiment in Ecocriticism’ . His intention was to focus on “the application of ecology and ecological concepts to the study of literature.”

their own perspectives. We are bound to keep the things in mind with concept that whether it is harmful to us or helpful to us.

› If we go back to the age of dinosaur, we see dinosaur as our enemy. But they also were the creation of nature.
