PARAGUAY Interesting Facts Asuncion is Paraguay’s capital. Paraguay is the size of California, but has 3 million fewer people than a county in California. Not many people live in Paraguay. It is home to about 6.8 million people. Paraguay is one of two countries that do not border a coast. It had war with two very big countries, Argentina and Brazil. It exports soybeans, feed, cotton, meat, edible oils, wood, and leather. The official languages are Spanish and Guarani. Paraguay’s Independence Day is on May 14. Paraguay Recycled Orchestra In Cateura, Paraguay, people of all ages make instruments out trash. They make the violin, the guitar, the flute, and many other instruments. The instruments look amazing and have the same sound the instruments that are not made from trash. Usually kids make the instruments for school. The trash is recycled and that is how people get the trash to make their instruments. There are even orchestras that have instruments entirely made out of trash.
