G8 Yearbook Dedicaon: A focal part of the Middle School Yearbook (Salinlahi) is the G8 dedicaon page. Duringselected Advisory sessions, the G8 students have been given the opportunity to work ontheir dedicaons. They have been given guidance and support as well as exemplarswrien by previous students. The individual dedicaons are tradionally accompaniedby a baby photo as well as this year’s yearbook photo. We are aware that some stu-dents may leave it to the last minute to ask for a baby photo and we therefore want tomake sure all parents are in the communicaon loop. The deadline students have beengiven for subming the nal version of their dedicaon and a baby photo is Friday,March 4th.
Measures of Academic Progress (MAP) Tesng: The MAP tesng window starts on Monday and will run for a two week period of me.The MAP tests are computerized and are adapve in nature. This means that quesonsget harder or easier depending on whether a child responds correctly or incorrectly. These tests are unmed and take place during regular scheduled class me. Studentswill be taking 3 dierent MAP tests - Reading (English class), Language Usage (SocialStudies class) and Mathemacs (Math class). ISM uses the data from these assessmentsto guide the next instruconal steps and to monitor curriculum strengths and areas ofimprovement.
